He used to be a cop and then a detective, so he’s very manly and protective. Last year we were in Phoenix eating dinner with friends when a fight broke out in the bar of the restaurant we were at. Everyone in the bar kind of stood back and wouldn’t do anything, but FH jumped up out of our booth and went over there and yelled, “HEY!!” IN THE LOUDEST VOICE EVER, and then showed his badge, which he still carries in his wallet, and broke the fight up and threw the one guy out the door of the restaurant before walking back into the bar area to see what happened. Our friends and I were still in the booth and they were trying to talk to me and I was like SHUT UP I WANT TO WATCH THIS!! I just like that he’s the type that will do that and I’m not ashamed to admit it turns me on to watch him be a badass.

My top four are:

1) Kind – I mean unbelievably.  To everyone.  I don’t think it would even cross his mind to ever be rude or intentionally say something hurtful

2) Generous – with time, money, love, forgiveness, everything!

3) Loyal – I know he’s going to mate for life ๐Ÿ™‚

4) Sexy!

My husband is a police officer too, so I have to second ohheavenlyday on his protective nature (not to mention the sexiness of a man in uniform). Now that we’re expecting, I’m beginning to appreciate this more than ever. Although he hasn’t had any cool superhero moments yet (@ohheavenlyday:I’d have totally swooned over that one too) the little things he does to keep me safe are pretty cute, like he’ll NEVER let me walk on the street side of the sidewalk when we’re walking our dog, if he’s away at night calls to make sure I’ve locked the doors etc. It just makes me feel safe and pretty cherished

outside of  “i can trust him”, “he loves me” and that kind of thing i would have to say:

his love of reading – he reads more than anyone i know – he spends monday lunches at the library picking out 3 or 4 books for the week. i find it very attractive.

@forforever:

HAHAHA every time mine goes out of town on business, he leads me to the closet where he keeps his handgun, shows me it’s loaded, and makes me practice pulling it out of the holster really fast in case anyone breaks in and I have to use it. LOLLLLLL.

It seems like the entire time I’ve been dating my Fiance, I’ve had some kind of health issue.  Last year, I was diagnosed with moderate hypoglycemia, and this year, I’ve had a bunch of knee trouble and am having surgery next week.  No matter what’s going on with me, he is always by my side at doctors’ appointments.  He always makes sure I take my hypoglycemia meds, because if I forget to take a pill, I get really woozy and out of it.

So I would have to say that I love that my Fiance is attentive to my needs, and takes care of me no matter what.  The other day I said to him, “What’re you going to do when I’m completely healthy?  You’re so used to taking care of me.”  His response?  “I’d treat you this way no matter how you felt.”  ๐Ÿ™‚

He is a feminist & treats me like an equal!

He values my intelligence, never speaks for me, asks me questions, and talks about things like dividing up household labors so that our kids don’t grow up with the idea that the house is a woman’s place. He once got into a huge argument with someone about the objectification of women at a bar!

He’s masculine and can build things and fix cars and lift heavy stuff and do all that too, and he is the smartest person I’ve ever met, and he some how manages to balance medical school with having a life and contributing to our relationship…but I have to say if I had to pick One Thing…its the equality thing.

I love that he is the type of person to take charge of a situation, rather than stay on the sidelines and do nothing.

He’s extremely handy. He’s been a mechanic his whole life, so he can do anything to a car, which has saved us thousands of dollars. Plus, he’s pretty damn handy in the house, and anything he can’t do or figure out, my fil can so he will come help him out.  And he’s so adorably cute, he says the sweetest things and loves to cuddle and tell me how much he loves me, and I’m the most beautiful woman in the world.  He’s usually never mushy like that, so its extra cute when he does it at home

I love that my husband’s as go-go-go as I am. I can’t sit still and would be so miserable with someone that wanted to spend the night in or didn’t feel like making weekend plans. When folks tell us that we’ll slow down when we have kids, while that may be true to some extent – we both know that we’re going to have the greatest adventure of all, we can’t wait (fingers crossed)! ๐Ÿ™‚

This may sound trite but the quality I love most about Fiance is how kind he is.  I am hot-tempered and hold people to high standards, but my Fiance is patient and nice to everyone, which amazes me.  I am also oblivious to a lot of things, but he notices everything and takes the time to point out everything around us that I would like, such as a little bird or an interesting stone on the ground.  I always joke that he would be perfect for a blind girl because he could tell her about everything. He is also genuinely interested in almost everything, which I love.  We’ll spend hours spontaneously researching and talking about any random little subject. Sorry, I couldn’t pick just one thing, hehe.
