Have you gone to a retailer to see these fabrics in person? That seems like the easiest solution to me.

A second idea is to purchase the swatches. For $30 you get four 5×7 swatches you can see and feel.

@emilyekk: I’ve tried on Alfred Sung in both fabrics. I think peau de soie is closest to cotton, but easily wrinkles. The dupioni has a nice look to it, but there is a sheen.

My BMs considered the Alfred Sung with a sweetheart neckline, I forget which one it was, but here’s a photo of it in the dupioni (definitely has a shine to it):

I used the dupioni scoop neck style.  It was definitely a little shiny.

Does anyone else have any pictures? I am trying to decide between these fabrics.. I am also wondering whether they wrinkle easily.
