I have dark dark brown hair – this isn’t what you asked (b/c I wore my hair down) but even though I have really dark hair, you can still see the shape and style of the curl, so don’t get discourged!

The next pic is just a simple sock bun, again even though my hair is dark, you can still tell its a bun, esp in person and when you can see the back.

Ugh, I know how you feel re: blondes with updos that look amazing. My hair isn’t super dark–it’s a darker auburn brown with a weird golden tone–but it never looks amazing and dimensional like blondes! Fiance wants me to wear my hair down, too, but I also have “hands in hair” disease (I would prefer to wear my hair down, since I NEVER wear my hair up). We’ll see what happens at my hair trial, though, since I think an updo would look best with my dress.

I have a few nice updos on my pinterest of ladies with dark hair if you want to look.

Plus I will add that I love dark hair w/o highlights (I think highlights look good on med/light brown hair, but not dark b/c it washes out the rest of the hair.)

Plus dark brown hair looks soooo shiny in pics!! 🙂

Another bee posted this a while ago and I loved it (minus the flower). So this is the idea of what I’m doing with my hair. My hair is very dark brown but it’s also curly, so August humidity will make it frizz if I try to leave it down.

I wore mine half up / half down and you can still see the dimension/style of the “half up” part.  Don’t get discouraged!

The July heat and humidity (plus sweating from dancing) started to kill the curl in the “half down” art by the end of the night.  But you can still see the top.

something else to think about is getting a clear demi glaze on your hair to make it shiny. my hair is almost black too and i do a clear glaze on my hair so you can see the detail. hair reflects light better if it’s shiny.

I have dark brown hair. I plan on wearing it up with a large ivory flower and a veil.

I like this updo.

I wore my hair half up half down and it helped my hair look more interesting. I hate how it often looks like a blob of brown but I was happy with how it turned out.

My hair hasn’t been dyed in years, but it still looks slightly ombre. Lighter at the ends. That’s an option for making parts of your hair stand out. I also had long side bangs that made my hair have more dimension up front.

This is what I would like to do with my hair

I took this image from another bee.. This is what I was looking for for my hair and she just happened to find the PERFECT style for me! (It will look AH-MAZING with my gown! Thanks Shelby81!)
