Emerald cut diamonds are my first love.  I didnt get one, though if I did, it would have been from the local jeweler’s row downtown or possibly NYC diamond district.

I have a square emerald (asscher). We got it from Jared and I love it. I couldn’t be happier with it. They also had a large selection of rectangular emerald cuts.

The diamond was from Blue Nile and I then had it set at my local jeweller. Emerald cut stones are few and far between in retail stores!

I have an asscher. Fiance went to a local jeweler and told them what he wanted. They special ordered 3 stones with certain specifications and he picked his favorite. I’m not sure what they did with the other stones. If you go that route you should have a pretty good idea of a price point you want to be at. I know I told Fiance I had certain preferences with quality, but I’m sure a jeweler could help you with figuring our which Cs are most important to you and how to maximze your budget when picking a stone.

Check out independent, local jewelers. The stores I’ve been to tend to have more of those than the chain stores.

We went to a private jeweler (as opposed to Zales, Jared, or Kay). In fact we went to several and every one of them had emeralds there. Since they’re not as popular as round or princess cuts, most chain retailers don’t carry them. It was a must for me, though, and we found a winner!  Sorry for huge pic, uploaded from my phone and don’t know how to resize.

Don’t have my ring yet… but Boyfriend or Best Friend and I went to the diamond district in NYC to get the stone and then had it set locally…. The stone we got had been listed on Blue Nile but he gave us a great deal, much less than the price advertised on Blue Nile…

You really need to see Emeralds in person — a lot of it is personal preference (such as the ratio, etc.).

I was looking at Emeralds as well, but decided on a Rectangle Radiant cut instead.  Wedding Day Diamonds had a great selection of Emeralds  though!  Good Luck! Hope you find what you are looking for!

Check out pricescope.com – big jewelry lovers over there.

I’d look at whiteflash, bluenile, jamesallen, briangavin and goodoldgold.

We got my emerald cut ring from Reed’s, but I would NOT recommend them at all.  If Zales had had my ring in a smaller size than 3 carat, I would have preferred to go with them.  Otherwise, I would have preferred to special order it from the jewelry store where we got our wedding bands–Rogers and Hollands. We just got my husbands band back from there and they did a fantastic repair, you can’t even tell it ever need to be repaired.
