I was pretty anti-halo only because I feel like every girl in my area was getting the same one, and a lot of them didn’t have very nice craftmanship. I went looking at rings and tried on my three stone oval halo and fell in love with it. The setting looks more like an estate piece and it just really felt “me”. While I have a halo, I feel like I have not seen many other people with a three stone oval halo.

elephantear:  I got it because it gives some visual interest plus I love all of the insane sparkles coming from all different directions in different kinds of lighting. I didn’t really do it to make my center stone look larger.

elephantear:  I wanted something a little different but still timeless. Plus I love the BLING. I had mine made so my wedding band can come out and be worn solo.

elephantear:

Halos are absolutely beautiful and appear to be different from the next. I chose a halo because It enhances the beauty of my round solitaire. I’m a size 8.5 finger and wanted something that did not look gaudy. In selecting my ring I also kept in mind that I want a diamond wedding band that will compliment my ering.

I love my halo, mostly because my center stone is an emerald cut. I looked at solitares and felt they looked too modern for me.  I love the contrast between the step cut of the center stone and the sparkle of the round brilliant stones that are on the halo and the band. I think a halo around a round brilliant stone can give the optical illusion of a larger stone which might be a reason that style is so popular.

I feel like halos are like strapless wedding dresses, they aren’t for every bride but there are so many pretty ones that they have developed quite a following.

I have always loved halos. I think they make the overall ring look bigger and add a little something extra! I personally have never liked solitaires for myself, and the side view was one of the most important things for me. Even within the realm of halos I was super picky, and I chose this one becuase it had the best side view in my opinion!

elephantear:  I got a halo and some days I wish I had gotten a solitaire, which is what I always wanted. When we bought my e-ring I felt extremely rushed and pressured to pick something right then and there ๐Ÿ™ I have been considering approaching my Fiance about this but I don’t want to hurt his feelings, as he loves my ring. I love my ring too, just not crazy about the halo. Everything else about it I adore.

I don’t think my halo gives any illusion about the size of my center stone. They are different colors, after all. I like halos becuase I have ALWAYS liked halos. Ever since I was a little kid and I saw Princess Diana’s ring, so it’s what I always imagined I’d have.
