debjoshi :  I have a one carat, but I am hoping to see lots and lots of posters. I was contemplating even going lower in size and would have. So I would love to see some too 🙂

I have a less than 1 ct, but more than 1/2ct! My girl is an .81ct round and I’d say it does have pretty decent finger coverage. I am technically a size 6.5, but I feel like my finger looks slightly chubbier where my rings sit and I have my ring size slightly larger to accommodate swelling when I get hot. Mister has expressed a slight regret that it wasn’t a .9 or 1ct, but he had specifically invested in the cut, clarity and brillance aspects versus size to get more bang for his buck. In the light the ring just glitters and shoots rainbows and simply DAZZLES.

I personally think the size compared to a 1ct is negligible just looking at it, and cannot really tell it isn’t a full carat unless it is put next to a full carat ring (when I was testing bands at the store I did a size difference side by side with my ring). I love it and am definitely proud of my ring. He said he did a lot of research and surriptiously checked out other women’s rings to see the size and brillance of their diamonds before he started to ring shop in earnest, lol.

And with my band, which also has small diamonds in it, my fingers is spectacularly sparkly, lol. Okay, now onto the shameless picture portion of my ring! (I apologize for the sizes of the pics)

chatnoir :  that’a just beautiful! your set looks so romantic.

i had a 0.75carat solitaire but did not like the setting. On our fifth anniversary this year my hubs wanted to upgrade my ring but there’s just too much memories w my stone that we kept it and just had it reset into a 3 stone (which we agreed would represent us as the main stone and our 2 girls on our side). my side stones are 0.3carats each and the ring feels so substantial on my finger.

beyondthesea : Aww, thank you! That is the sweetest compliment!

jisforjasmine :  Thank you! I definitely appreciate the romantic vintage/antique look. I love how your set isn’t matching, but how the style of the two rings rather fits well together. Both rings are very unique. 🙂

Yes! I never tried on rings for diamond size – my fiance knew what size he could afford, and just tried to max out the 4 C’s within that budget. He did an amazing job! He went a bit smaller than his max budget could afford, but the cut makes the diamond look sooo much bigger! It’s a 0.6ct on a 6.5 finger!

fourthnoel :  It sounds like your fiance did what my husband did, more bang for his buck, but still makes for a gorgeous sparkley ring! I love how the diamond part in the band winds a path through those curves and doesn’t cover the whole thing. Gives it that perfect pop of uniqueness. 🙂

We had looked at a few .7 round centers at Costco, so I knew I’d like the size. He surprised me with my .83 round. I love it. I really think it is the perfect size. It’s still a big diamond in my eyes. Finger size 5.75.

Mine is .7 with a .75 band. I also have a .76 round in a different setting. I wouldn’t say no to something a little larger but overall I’m very happy with this size!!

I had never tried on rings, but always knew I wanted a round solitaire.  I’m very happy with the size of my .7 ct diamond!  I’m super clumsy and my finger is only a size 4.  1+ ct diamonds are GORGEOUS but probably wouldn’t suit me!
