Honestly?  No, I never had that problem except for the few months my Dr. put me on anti-anxiety meds.  I would talk to your Dr. about it, it could be the pill you’re on, perhaps you can switch it?  Are you on any other meds that could be causing this?

I have PCOS and I totally had that problem when I was on BC. I don’t know if it was the pill itself or a combo of both, but as soon as I got off of all birth control completely, my sex drive returned with a vengeance and has stuck around 🙂

I’m actually on Apri and have PCOS too. I would say that yeah, my sex drive has decreased a little bit…but Fiance and I have also been stressed, and we moved in together, and we’ve been together six years. My sex drive is still PRESENT, though. So yeah, worth talking to your gyno about it, and let us know how this works out!

I have PCOS and I’m um… how shall I say this…. always ready to go!  lol  I have a stronger sex drive then my hubby.  I’d guess that you are probably right and that the BC is interacting in a way that’s decreasing your sex drive.  🙁  Maybe check it out and try something different?

That’s true and probably for the best.  I’ve been through such hell since coming off of BC and finding out that I have PCOS.  2 years later my hormones are still trying to figure out what their job in life is…. >.<

I have had that issue with one birth control I was on – Yaz. It also made me a crazy b*tch from time to time. The craziest mood swings ever, it was seriously scary how much it changed me and my moods. I promptly stopped that one after a 3 month test run. So I don’t think it’s all the pcos, I never had that problem really before taking that one pill.

Were you on a different BC before that consistently or the same type (lower dosage, etc) for the 2 years? There are many different types of pills too it sucks, but it’s sort of a trial an error thing and you’re right, you do have to play around with it for a few months at a time. I would definitely bring it up with your doc. It’s nothing to be ashamed of and it doesn’t hurt to ask, even if you are planning on going off them in the near future.
