sunshineno5:  OMG love your ring…. that picture is almost toomuch, diamonds and champagne are pretty high up there in my favorite things list.. πŸ˜€

wait, I think i have something in that style too.. I was taking a picture with our massive champagne bottle.

I have quite weird little hands, short and stubby. If they werent so wrinkly they would look like little child hands. I wear size 4 but my rings are actually not full eternity, the jeweller refused to make that for me as it would compromise the stability and sturdiness of the ring or something. I suspect that Darling Husband got to him first and warned him about my extreme clumsiness. πŸ™‚

isabeelle:  ahhhhh – similar friend circles and similar fabulous taste in large format bubbly!!!! I got my Fiance a Jerobaom of Veuve when I gave her her ring.

Wow – your ring is incredible! (and I don’t think your hands look stubby at all)

I’m a size 4 also and I think a full eternity would drive me crazy between my fingers but I love how they look.  My ering has 3/4 around diamonds on the band. Fiance and I will have the exact same wedding band – but mine will look more like the diamonds are 3/4 around whereas hers will look like the 1/2 around (which it actually is), due to her having a ring size 6.5 vs my size 4

sunshineno5:  We got a jeroboam of Veuve as a pre wedding gift and it was heaven. It might have been my favorite gift ever haha (one more for bubs here). Popped it with girlfriends at my bachelorette party after chilling it all day in a giant ice water cooler πŸ™‚

I’ve just had compliments, and the “he must really love you” which is such a janky comment. I think asking someone how much their ring costed is extremely tacky.

sunshineno5:  lol, go big or go home, right? You should have seen me schlepping that Jeroboam from the car, past a “Praise Center” and to the NYE party in a bad part of town in my dress, Louboutins and that ring. Never felt so out of place in my life.

I think it is adorable you and your future wife have the exact same rings πŸ™‚ Was it difficult to agree on the model? Women have very specific tastes in jewellery after all πŸ™‚

My Darling Husband does not want to wear a ring, so I got him a very nice watch instead. He loves it and wears it everyday. I love the thought that whenever he checks the time, he is reminded of me  and us.

AubreyMarie:  I have a 3 carat diamond solitaire and the only one of those I have been asked is how many carats, and even that is fairly rare. In my region and circle 2+ is not uncommon. I don’t think many people around here even know about moissonite.

MrsBuesleBee:  Fiance and I are such Veuve girls! I got a 1/2 bottle, full bottle (2004 Grande Dame – yum!), Magnum and a Jerobaom when I gave her the ring at a Veuve Clicquot party this year. All our ‘congrats on your engagement’ gifts included bottles of VC, (one of the vintage ones we popped on NYE) which was pretty awesome. I wish i could find the tiny 187ml bottles so we could have a whole stair step of them, but I’ve only found them online in the UK and it would literally cost $100+ to get one to Texas. Ugh – pass.

We still have the magnum and jerobaom and are considering keeping them until the rehersal dinner because I love the idea of sharing one bottle of wine with my whole new/blended family.

If you haven’t read it, The Widow Clicquot is a really interesting and informative book

AubreyMarie:  I had a hair dresser who I’ve never been to before ask me to try my ering on… Awkward…

isabeelle:  lol – loving the visual of red bottoms, bubbles and a Praise Center. Hahahah – hey, water into wine, right?

We both fell in love with my ering, so agreeing on the same wedding band wasn’t really hard. It had to match mine and since she has a simple solitaire, it went really well with hers. I designed her solitare with the jeweler where we got my ering so I could have a professional opinion on the setting and making sure my ering, her ering and our bands all made sense and looked good together.

Smart idea about the watch for your FI! I think that’s really sweet and practical. Besides, every moment that ticks by is another moment he’s been with you and I think that’s adorable πŸ™‚

Part of me hates that mine has to take hers off so often (she’s a firefighter and doesn’t wear it for safety reasons at work), so I wish I could give her something she would always have πŸ™ It’s silly but I get a little annoyed that she wears a firefighter cross necklace daily (including at work) that was given to her years ago by a ‘friend’ who doesn’t support our relationship and who I personally am not a fan of. Part of me wants to replace it but I know that’s silly. Still doesn’t make it better though πŸ™

sunshineno5:  ow, bummer shehas to take it off so often.. Why not get her a pendant of Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters?

i suspect the firefighters cross has some kind of protective/superstitious meaning, so perhaps a saint florian pendant would serve the same purpose?

FutureDrAtkins:  I can see that. It’s not like a stranger in the street or a coworker. Sound like it was your girl gang geeking out about your engagement.

I have a one carar and while I don’t think it is really big everyone else seem to. I also have a moissy and I tell everyone I know it’s a moissy and they never asked if its a CZ. Most people i know have been in serious relationship and have looked into alternative stones to diamond so they know what moissy is and have wanted to see it in person. Im 21 and most of the people I hang out with know about alternative stones.

isabeelle:  I’ve considerd it, but don’t want to come across as petty, like “wear my firefighter necklace instead of the one your dumb friend gave you.” Besides, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that her dad was also a firefighter (and her hero) and he and her step-mom both wear the same pendant.

Note – when I said her dad was a firefighter, he’s a retired FF, nothing tragic happened
