I have a lot of white stretch marks on my thighs and boobs from when I hit my growth spurt around age 11. I’ve always been on the heavy side of healthy BMI and sometimes over in the overweight category. I’m trying to get down to the mid-healthy range and I’m wondering if my stretch marks will go down. I’m always afraid to get tan because they get more visible and I don’t want people to see them. I drink lots of water and I always have, but that didn’t help me not get them. So, does anyone have this info for me? Will they get less visible with weight-loss?

The only thing that will fade them is time. When I lose weight, they seem to show off more because my skin gets ridges. I had a baby, he did not make it, yet 5 years later I don’t feel they’ve gotten better. Scars suck.

Unfortunately, stretch marks are pretty much there to stay. They fade a bit with time but they will never fully go away. I’ve always been in the underweight zone and I still have a few – it just comes down to genetics. They are incredibly common and I really wouldn’t worry about having a few, it is completely normal and in no way a reflection of your weight or fitness (same with cellulite).

Mine have faded significantly with time but they are still there. The only thing I’ve found that makes them almost invisiable is a spray tan.

I have some very deep purple ones on my sides that I’ve noticed get less purple and shiney the more weight I lose. They’re still there, they’re just less noticable.

I have lost 45 pounds in 6 months and have noticed my stretch marks are less noticeable but not a super big difference. I have heard from a few friends that using Mederma works wonders if you have the money to spend on keeping up with that. Before losing weight, I used Palmer’s cocoa butter stretch mark cream consistently as directed and also noticed that worked decently well. Tanning actually helps mine fade more than anything else has.

Weight loss doesn’t usually get rid of them. The surgical grade silicon patches work, but they are annoying. Stri-Vectin also works, although it can get expensive.

I know that they don’t go away, but I’m hoping that they get smaller and less noticeable when they’re not being stretched open by fat.

I had some very red stretchmarks on my boobs from weight gain and I had laser treatment on them through my dermatologist. It did help to take the colour out, but the actual indented lines in the skin are still there. Over time I’ve learned to just live with them 🙂

Pinterest has helped me find a lot of ‘remedies’ for them. I’m determined to get rid of mine. Also I noticed walmart sells ‘scar cream’ for 88 cents for those of you who don’t have alot.. they keep it back by the pharmacy at our walmart. For those who are interested in trying to combat them..

also..
Take coffee grinds with olive oil, and make into a paste. Massage well into the area with stretch marks for about 5 minutes. Then take a hot towel, and wrap it around the area for about 20-25 minutes. Remove and wash off with warm water. Also, when you are finished, apply a moisturizer to the area. The olive oil with the caffeine in the grinds, will help stimulate the area to remove the stretch marks. If you do this 1-3 times a week, you will start to notice a difference within 2 weeks! i have been losing weight using a detox program and alot of green drinks. Yes, you do get stretch marks when you lose weight. I wanted something to help diminish my stretch marks and imperfections and I found 2 things that work. (1) Get a giant scrubber thingy to use in the shower, and really brish the stretch marks hard. This is important. (2) After the shower, I have been applying the Somaluxe Stretch Mark Treatment (by Lady Soma) and it has really helped. ive only been using for a week and i already see results.

Although I just started to use dermelastic serum I can already see a visible difference in my stretch marks. The redness has begun to subside and my skin feels soft. Looking forward to incorporating this into my daily routine, so far the results are promising!
