I have short, stubby nails, and I will totally admit to biting my cuticles when I’m nervous. Short acrylics are the only way for me to go for my wedding. 🙂 I will definitely keep them short though.

I’m going to get a mani the day before. I can’t stand fake nails! I know this is probably weird, but I saved a few inspiration photos from the weddingbee of nails that I like. I’m trying to grow them a little bit and I’m eating a lot of jello to keep them strong. (jello has ground up animal bones in it, I think)

If you are not a fan of acrylic get french shellac. My nails are short but it gives the illusion of nice long nails without the damage!

@Peony007:  @meg.miles:  thanks ladies! I really love shellac!!! The guy told me I need to grow my nails out but they always break so what’s the point??

I’ve never gotten fake nails and I’m not going to start now. I wouldn’t call mine stubby (at least in the summer — I feel like my nails and hair are stronger in the warmer seasons), but they aren’t super long, either. I’m going to:

  • try to get all my gardening done at least one month before the wedding (because nothing kills my hands like grubbing in the dirt)

  • try to drink a lot of water and eat good lean protein and a lot of veggies in that month (hangnails are related to not enough vitamins, I think)

  • focus on making sure they’re all at least covering the tips of my fingers(no peeling at them when I’m bored)

The goal is to get a NATURAL French manicure the day before. No fakes, no sanding, no cuticle pushing, nothing painful.

ETA: I noticed that mine are actually not looking too bad right now. I don’t think I’d be too ashamed to rock these going down the aisle. 😉

@auggiefrog:  multivitamins and biotin help for growing. You can clean with a brush or usually nail clippers have a thing to clean out dirt.

My nail beds are super short. I’ll probably wear a very neutral color or a very subtle color like dove gray or baby pink. I’m not getting fakes cause I’ll just rip them off on the way to our honeymoon and I like a little color.
