Any LVC brides out there? I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to decorate the reception room. It has such a unique vibe! I would love to know what everyone else did, and how it turned out!
Here are my thoughts so far:
-use the candles they have in the fireplaces as well as the centerpieces. I hate going to weddings where the CP is so huge or so bulky that plates hardly fit on the table, or you can’t speak to anyone sitting across from you.
-my DJ is providing white uplighting around the room
annnd that’s it. My wedding is in May and my colors are a natural looking purple and green. Any help would be SO appreciated! Thanks!!

My sister got married there in June. She used the candles on the fire place. For CPs she used lanterns, flowers in mason jars, and tea lights

I’m getting married there too!
I’m doing a white/black/pink look.
Tables will be ivory, with low/medium height white flowers with pink/black accents somehow. Meeting with my florist in July to layout the details…
I am doing candles on the mantles, but honestly i’m not crazy about the way they do them by default, it reminds me of a skeleton mouth or something. I’m going to jam pack it with Candles so it’s fuller.
Also I got a good package from my DJ that includes uplighting so i’m going to do a light pink wash over the ceiling. On it’s own the ceiling has that yellow tint to it that is pretty but would clash my colors.
My photographers just shot a wedding there you can check it out here. I never saw these centerpieces done at LVC before. (normally i just google “lake valhalla club blog wedding” and try to checkout how others have decorated to get ideas)

@nyCheesecake: I like your ideas! I’m also, now, debating the candles in the fireplace and the centerpieces. I think I’m going to do small square vases with small purple/green/white/pop of yellow flowers in some, and candles in others. Thinking flowers on the fireplaces? Are you getting married outside or under the tent? If you’re getting married outside, how are you decorating the arch thing? lol I am such an idiot when it comes to this stuff!! I asked my florist about the arch and she said it would cost almost $700! my eyes popped out of my head!

@jasonkatie2014: oh wow $700 for the arch? hah i dont know how much they usually run but that seems a little high.
unfortunately i am not getting married there. we settled on a church wedding to make everyone happy. i love the purple green and white! very pretty good choice.
they have the arch decorated here: http://junebugweddings.com/blogs/photobug/archive/2013/01/30/outdoor-wedding-at-lake-valhalla-club-with-photos-by-pat-furey.aspx
I would try to come up with some type of other decorating ideas with your florist. There has to be something less expensive she can do. different flowers, less stuff…who knows.
i just found this one, i’m super jealous bc she incorporated a lot of things i wanted to incorporate but she has a less decorated arch here and it’s still very pretty

@nyCheesecake: Thanks for the links!! Yeah, I’m going to talk to her about that. I think she might have the impression that I want something very lavish – which I don’t really. We only had a casual conversation about it, so when it gets closer, I’ll give her a better idea. She is a family friend so the little details aren’t quite as set in stone as it would be with another vendor.

@jasonkatie2014: You have plenty of time. I’m only meeting with my florist to really get the “look” all figured out in the next couple of weeks for my Sept 8th wedding 🙂
