We looked there, and it is beautiful.  No place is perfect, and I have never been to a wedding there.  But my personal reasons for not choosing it were 1. They did not have a bridal suite, and 2. I was not impressed with the people who showed the place to us.  It was very sales-pitchy ("and here you will walk in looking soooo beauuuutiful") and they avoided pricing related questions.

That being said, however, the place is beautiful, and my reasons are very shallow and minor!  I based a little too much on the staff when choosing a venue, which backfired on me.  The manager of the place I chose was fired, and now we are dealing with a complete moron.

So bottom line, yes…it is beautiful…I just really wanted a bridal suite.

I do, I do!  I was just IN a wedding at lakeview two weeks ago (and my prom was there 9 years ago!) it is beautiful! Were you thinking of doing your ceremony and reception there? Ask me anything. I kind of acted as a DOC for the bride so I’m sure I can answer your questions.  I am going to PM you with the hundreds (literally 450!) of photos I took.

Heathaah — just an FYI, but I’m sure you don’t care cause you’re wedding is in four months and I’m sure you booked another place, but they did have a beautiful room that they called the "photography room" that ended up being the bridal suite and we also used it as a mini cocktail hour room for the bridal party.

Here’s a link to some photos that I posted on my blog after we did a wedding there last year. Seriously, it was one of my favorite venues- the staff was knowlegeable, and it was absolutely spectacular with the twinkling lights suspended from the rafters. Are you thinking of having your ceremony there too? The couple in the link above did and it was very nice- the only issue was that it was a little tight up at the gazebo with the large wedding party. (I liked being able to go behind the minster- a very unusual view of the ceremony.) Humarock is right- there isn’t a bridal suite (the bride in the photos above got ready at a local hotel), but the photography room is bright and beautiful, and has it’s own exit to go outside for formals (so you don’t have to walk through the reception hall where the guests are having cocktail hour). There’s also a room when you first walk in that the bride chilled out in before the ceremony, but it’s not a bridal suite. We recommend this venue to everyone! Let me know if you have more questions… I get a very behind the scenes view of venues, and I’m happy to share!
