I had one of FI’s friends say he wont come if his EX-gf comes. Annoying, much?

We invited DH’s co worker (a VP at his company) and his family, wife and 2 teenage kids. Their kids often attend parties with their parents and everyone loves them, including us. DH’s co worker RSVP-ed yes for his whole family. Well the kids didn’t show up to the wedding and simply said “it’s not their thing”. I wanted to ask why they RSVP-ed yes for the kids then….but I just let it go since he is someone with authority at my DH’s place of work.

I haven’t even sent invitations… someone told me 15 months out that she couldn’t get the time off from work.

… 15 months?

These are amazing. People seriously have no idea how much weddings cost.

I have two. The first just missed the RSVP deadline. I had to track him down to get his RSVP, and his excuse for not coming was that one of his good friends was getting a divorce, so he was going to go golfing with him that day instead. Cool…just send back your RSVP card that I so kindly wasted a stamp on to say that you aren’t coming!

The second, she had RSVP’d yes, and 5 days before the wedding, told me that she couldn’t come b/c her family was going to be throwing a baby shower for her cousin that day. Um…you didn’t know this BEFORE you RSVP’d?? Not to mention, the shower was in the same town, so fine, go to the shower if you can’t come to the ceremony and come to the reception later. Nope…never showed. Awesomeness.

My final head count isn’t in, but FH had a really good friend of his send him a Facebook message basically saying: I don’t have a date and I won’t know anybody and I have other commitments that night, so I don’t think I can attend the reception.

FH is inviting mutual friends, so his good friend isn’t coming because she couldn’t get a date?!?  Lame.

@SapphireSun If someone said that they were leaving my reception to go do something touristy I might slap them in the face and ask for the money it cost to reserve their spot!!!!
