- Wedding: November 2008
Hey everyone. I’m a bride (and former WeddingBee addict) from 2008 and I designed and letterpressed my own invites. I’m now doing a set for a friend and they randomly threw around the idea in the past of sometime down the road having a print made that’s inspired by the invitation set design. They said they could just have it printed on nice paper and I didn’t have to letterpress anything since the cost to do something that large could get expensive. They’re pretty busy now and haven’t brought it back up so I decided as part of our gift to them I’m just going to surprise them and design and letterpress it and have it matted and framed. They’ve been very low-key about most of the design work so I feel like as long as it resembles the invitation they’ll love it. The issue I’m having is with wording. I don’t want it to just be a giant invitation, but more of a memento of the day in an art form…kind of like a ketubah except…not. So I don’t want to use invite wording. I also don’t want it to be cheesy, formal, or religious as they are none of those things 🙂 Does anyone have any thoughts on what exactly I could write beyond just their names and the date? I’d appreciate any ideas!
