jmf77 :  Try your craft stores such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore, Joanns just to name a few. I’ve seen lanterns in these stores. I purchased my lanterns on clearns at lowes a while back for $1.50 each. Try Ikea, they ship if you do not have one near you.  Try quick candles for the tea light candle holders. They sell alot of things in bulk online.

jmf77 :  These are my centerpieces, very similar to your first/second pictures but a slightly smaller lantern! I bought my lanterns from Ikea in bulk and they were I think $8.99 each (in CAD dollars) and are 11” high, then I went to Michaels for the garland, I waited till they had a sale (which I find is often) that was buy one get one and got 12 of the 6-ft long strands for I want to say about $60. Then just some wire and snipping tools, used about half a strand of garland on each centerpiece and voila! I’m also going to use fake flame electronic candles which I got off amazon, but thats a personal choice! Now they’re just in a few boxes in the basement ready to go! I hope that helps a bit 🙂 It’s very do-able and affordable if you’re patient and look around for sales and different prices, which you definitely still have time to do!

I used lanterns as my centerpieces and got them from Old Time pottery for around 12-16 a piece. They were having some sort of sale on them that week which they often do. As a plus I sold them back for around $10 so it was nice to get some money back!

jmf77 :  I bought mine from Michaels when they were on sale (40% off) – I also had a mix of rectangular and round tables at our reception, so to save some $ by using less lanterns, we only put them on the round tables.

Have you looked into renting the lanterns? Honestly, renting can sometimes be better just because after you won’t have to resell them/store the. and they cost so much less.

My sister got some off amazon and hobby lobby when they would do sales. They also have an all called “retail me not” and she would get a lot of coupons off there for wedding things

Lots of good suggestions here! I got a bunch of wood/glass ones from kohls at an after Christmas sale. Big % off and I had kohls cash to use from buying Christmas presents there prior. That timeline is tight for your dec 30 wedding, but maybe end of summer? Or Black Friday sales?

I’d keep scouring kijiji and Craigslist. I’m sure there aren’t few brides who bought them for their spring and summer weddings who will be selling them

jmf77 :  I’m selling my lanterns for $10 each. They’re 11 inches and painted copper/rose gold. I also have 8 in copper ones for $5 each. Pm me if you’re interested.

I have gone to Burlington a few times each month and have been able to pick up one or two in the $12 ish range… Even one that is wood and chrome… It will fit our Country Chic wedding theme great.

IKEA has some 11″ ones online for $7.99 but you have to pay shipping…

Best of luck!

jmf77 :  I would suggest going on google and typing in something like: “wedding rental decor in X area”. Hopefully something shows up. Good luck!!
