The topic of centerpieces have been on my mind and I love the look of a latern with a flower in a vase beside it. How tall should the lantern be?? I have 30 tables or so to make centerpieces for so I am trying to go the most lease expensive route (but that usually means the shortest lantern!)

Shorter is actually better. In My Humble Opinion tall centrepieces at weddings result in people not being able to see/talk to the people they are sitting across from at the table.

If you put your elbow on the table, a centerpiece would be best at a height that is shorter than from the table to your wrist. That way you are not obstructing sight and conversation lines for your guests.- probably 14 inches max.
You can also buy really cute small lanterns and place them on a stack of books or a wood round.

Thanks!! That is a good guideline – wrist to table!
I agree about the tall centerpieces – I am not a fan.
I never thought about placing them on somerthing…good idea!
Thanks for the input!

Does anyone know any good places to buy them at a decent price??? I don’t want to spend more than $4/lantern!
