@papercrafter:  Can you post a pic of the lantern you are using?

I would say just go with a candle on the inside since it has the bird on the outside. I think since you are carrying lanters I’d skip adding any flowers to them unless you add a small flower to the outside but that might take away from the bird you are describing…..hard to say without seeing it

Maybe you could add a small flower to the outside….just a thought

TBH i don’t understand the idea of lanterns in the daytime (with or without candles)

@papercrafter:  Can you post a pic of your lanterns or give us a link?

If you want to use a real flower(s),  you can insert it into a florist tube with water, or use a small plastic holder that comes with florist foam and use florist putty to adhere it to the bottom of the lantern.
