I say go 3ct, I like big rocks anyway, and with bigger hands, it allows you to get an even bigger rock.  ๐Ÿ˜‰  Stone holders hold the sthe stone up higher than how it will be set, so it will actually look smaller in a setting.  If you like how the 8,5mm looks in the holder, that is closer to how a 9mm will look once set in an actual setting.

@GiantJelly:  I have size 9.75 finger size and I am rockin a 0.8 ct diamond. I love it and do not think it looks too small at all!! It’s up to you nd what you are comfortable with though.

I also have chunky little fingers and I told my SO to get a 8mm or an 8.5 mm so it looks proportional.

I think the 2ct looks just fine. I don’t think you’ll notice a huge difference in .5 carats though, I didn’t and I’m glad I didn’t because it would have been like another $8k. I settled on a 2.37ct and I wear a 7.75…it looks the same on me as yours does on you and your hand looks the same size as mine. This might seem like a silly question, but are ring sizes universal or is there a difference between UK/US? Either way, our hands looks the same size, let me know if you’d like to see my stone so you can get a feeling of what a little bigger would look like so you can see if you want to spend the money.

I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about.  I think it looks perfect for your hand.  What are your expectations?

I am a size 9.5 girl and I have a 1.01 carat solitaire and I don’t think my fingers sucked it up at all.  I agree with prevous posters that once the stone is in a setting it will look larger.  Also, I think that ring looks beautiful on your hand  and you have pretty hands.  So a 2 carat is probably large enough in my opinion.  But you have to do what makes you feel comfortable.

Oh and I forgot to add, we all suffer from diamond shrinkage disorder, but once you add a wedding band the disease kind of tapers off.

@GiantJelly:  I think it looks fine on your fingers and there is nothing wrong with your fingers either! You have to please yourself as you will be wearing it. You may want to consider that the larger it is, the more likely others will know it’s a simulant and not a real diamond. (Although people are unlikely to sayanything  whatever their thoughts)  maybe that doesn’t matter to you, don’t know.Howevere the vast majority w sims want others to think it’s a diamond . There is so much judgment about simulants!

Best wishes. Keep us posted ๐Ÿ™‚

@GiantJelly:  I totally feel you that a stone of a certain size can be underwhelming after you’ve built it up in your head… I ordered an 8.5mm moissy and was expecting it to look HUGE on my little 4.75 finger but I was honestly disappointed lol. I figure since I’m not trying to pass my moissy as a diamond, I might as well go big or go home so I’m ending up with a 10mm cushion moissanite. I cannot wait to rock my giant rock haha. I say go for the gold and get the larger one. Shrinkage is a real thing ๐Ÿ˜‰
