otterbee :  You don’t have to hide them. If all else failed just give it up and go free, nipples showing through. You’re probably the only one that notices.

You don’t have to do any of this, you’re choosing to.

otterbee :  are you serious? That is ridiculous. I’d go to HR about her comment. Why is she looking at your chest? Breasts come in all different shapes and sizes, nipples are not a one size fits all. You could have a medical condition, etc. She had no right to ask you that.

So it wasn’t your friend that pointed it out it was you manager?

That is a completely inappropriate comment from management and I would let her know that if she mentions it again. Seeing nipples through a bra and a top is not unprofessional, choosing to not wear a bra also isn’t unprofessional.

Go to HR. The issue is your inappropriate, unprofessional, intrusive manager, not your nipples.

otterbee : I have no advice unfortunately, but as another very large breasted woman I just wanted to say I agree that it is very unfair that women are often shamed about breast/nipple size/shape in professional environments. Even if it’s not okay that it happens, it still does. I have been made to feel uncomfortable about cleavage even when I make a concerted effort to cover up. It’s very frustrating and embaressing. So sorry you are dealing with this.

You have literally listed every option for covering nipples and the reason for why you can’t do any of them so I’m sure sure what option you’re left with. If you are personally uncomfortable then cover them, but since you don’t want to wear a different bra, nipple daisy or a tank under your clothes then I don’t see what else you can do other than embrace it as your natural body and move on.

It does strike me as odd that it’s so conservative that how dare a woman have nipples, but it’s not inappropriate to talk to several colleagues and a manager about said nipples. 🤷‍♀️

otterbee :  If your clothing isn’t sheer or low cut then I would ignore it honestly. If they bring it up again I would ask them point blank for a new uniform option. I would also ask them if they would bring it up to a male employee. People need to chill the f out – they’re just nipples! Everyone has them! If men can show theirs then so can women.

There aren’t many other options really. If it does bother you, I’d keep up with the pasties as the soreness would likely go down with time/getting used to it.

I have the same damn issue. I now avoid solid colors but I too hate that we are subjected to this. I see mens nioples through their damn polos all the time.  Anyhow I too have a textile allergy so I can’t wear any old bra or I’ll get raw skin and hives. So not worth it.

So I wear an undershirt (it also covers my stomach from rubbing on my pants and getting raw too. Not sure if you have that issue.  And pattern shirts. And some days IDGAF.

You have a uniform so I say thay your employer needs to just get over it. And stop commenting on your boobs that’s so improper of your boss.

My interpretation though is that she wouldn’t have even brought it up if it wasn’t a problem.”

The point myself and others are making is just because your manager brought it up doesn’t automatically mean it’s a valid or appropriate criticism.
