What area has the best schools? What are is the safest? We’re looking to move in the next 6 months, so I’d like to start researching!
Advice? Apartment recomendations? We would like to save to buy a house, so something good- but smaller and more economical – is best!

Green Valley is BY FAR the best area to look in Henderson. I’d suggest looking into renting houses, the rental market for apartments is high and you can often get a house for the monthly rent as 3 bedroom apartment. I don’t know about the elementary schools in the district, but Coronado is one of the best public high schools in Las Vegas. PM me if you want more specific advice or have specific questions. I’m more than happy to help, I’d just rather not post too many details out in the open. 🙂

@Aure: Totally agree about Henderson! I grew up here and bought my house in Green Valley. The northwest area is nice, too, but I still like Green Valley better. The houses and shopping centers are a bit newer up in the NW, but things are spread out a bit farther up there, too. Here in Green Valley, just about everything is a 20-minute or less drive (a bunch of different grocery stores, different movie theaters, different malls, etc.). Love it here 🙂

I am a teacher in vegas. I LOVE the Henderson/Green Valley schools. My school I used to teach at is off Galleria and Sunset. Great school. Treem elementary. Pretty much most of the henderson schools are good for public schools. Green Valley is great to live in also. Very affordable and a sense of community.

@MissFireFlower: Also, check out greatschools.org. You can compare area schools to get a sense of school districts and individual schools. It rates schools based on reviews, test scores, improvement, etc.
