- Wedding: September 2013
I haven’t been on here for 2 years since my Las Vegas (budget) wedding, but I wanted to share briefly what choices I made and my ratings, for any brides headed to Vegas. Note that this was done in 2013, so the prices may have changed or maybe their not in business anymore, but if you can book these people, DO! I couldn’t have been happier with the results and it was incredibly affordable.
I wanted the lowest maintenance wedding ever, so we were married at Excalibur, reception was in the Skyline Terrace Suite at MGM Grand, we ordered pizza and BYOB. It was so much fun and everyone was blown away by the suite and had an incredible time.
Wedding Ceremony: Excalibur, Canterbury Chapel. Don’t let the run down hotel fool you, the chapel is gorgeous! And very affordable as well. They provide photos and a DVD of the ceremony and the staff was exceptional. They provide your flowers too, simple but they do the trick! They exceeded my expectations for sure. https://www.excalibur.com/en/meetings-groups/weddings.html 9/10 Deducted marks because you have to walk thru a food court to get to the chapel LOL
Reception: Skyline Terrace Suite, MGM Grand https://www.mgmgrand.com/en/hotel/skyline-terrace-suite.html 10/10 (pic below) 1,300 sq ft suite with 800sq ft terrace overlooking the strip OMG it was stunning. Modern and was a real treat for the guests. On the terrace you can play music, there’s a fireplace, lots of couches, I wouldn;t change a thing. Robin Thicke actually stayed there the night before our wedding (cool fact). Guests were told to BYOB and we had no problem getting people to the suite. MGM discourages throwing your own party as they want to cater ($$) but we had problems getting the music playing on the terrace and MGM staff came in to fix the problem, mid party and there were absolutely no issues. The loft upstairs was AMAZING! When everyone left we took full advantage of the giant soaker tub and the most unbelieveable shower I’ve ever seen. It has mood lighting inside that you can adjust, we chose the “lightning storm” setting. Best night ever! Book onSunday for 1/2 price! Only spent $700 on the room, reg $1500!
Photography: http://www.lasvegaspix.com/ 9/10 Paul Cichocki was amazing, and sooooo affordable. Less than $400 for the entire night, you get a flash drive with ALL the photos, which were stunning, and he will edit 10-20 of them for you. Book him 100%! You won’t regret it! The unedited photos were still amazing, and he was very personable!
MUA/Hair: Shawnna Reed at [email protected] http://www.lvbridalbeauty.com/ I paid $115 pp and she did our hair AND makeup, and she did an amazing job!!! 10/10
So with flights, hotel for a week, ceremony, reception, photography and makeup I’m pretty sure I spent less than my $3k dress. And the guests still talk about the experience of that suite. It was not a flashy wedding, we didn’t buy fancy dinner (pizza) but it was so much fun and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!
