I’m interested in laser hair-removal as well. Groupon doesn’t have a deal in my area right now, but I plan to purchase when available. Will you update us with your experience after your treatments? Would appreciate it a lot. 🙂

I’m posting because I want to come back to this and see how it worked out for you.  I’d kill to get some hair removed for good.. Shaving is annoying!

I’ve done it before!!

Laser works best on super dark hair and super fair skin.  Which, fortunately (or unfortunately..) is what I have.  I’ve been doing it everywhere.  They say you need 6-8 sessions, but you really need a lot more than that.  Once you’re done with that groupon, I recommend buying another one for 6 sessions.  After you’re done with the sessions, you still need to go back for ‘maintenance’ since it never gets 100% of the hair.

Even though it’s not perfect, I LOVE IT.  I barely have to shave ever.  If you keep it up, eventually you won’t have to shave anymore.  It just really takes a long time.

I do my face, underarms, brazilian and entire legs.

ETA:  You’ll notice results after the first 3-4 sessions.  You’ll notice patches of skin that don’t have hair anymore and the hair starts to grow back thinner and lighter.  You’ll definitely notice a difference after 6 sessions.  But I’ve done at least 6 sessions on every part of my body that I’ve done laser on and I haven’t finished with any parts.  The only thing I regret is not going part-by-part.  Like, I should have done my face and underarms first, finished those, and then gone back for the rest.  Because, I ran out of money and now I don’t go for months and months.  I’m sure that doesn’t help the hair from growing!

My second appointment is this Monday!  I decided I’ve had it shaving “down there” and bit the bullet and had my first session.  She is doing my underarms too.  After about a week you’ll notice that more hair is falling out.  Your hair does grow in cycles which is why you need 4-6 sessions to get all the follicles.  I’ve noticed that my underarms has a lot less regrowth than the bikini area (I’m really getting the entire shebang done in that region), so I don’t know if that has to do with the texture of the hair or really just the surface area plays tricks on my eyes.  So far, I’m pleased and can’t wait for the next session.  Sorry if that’s all Too Much Information…

@futuremrsk18:  I agree!  I have the same hair color/skin tone as you.  I’ve paid for 6 sessions but I think I will need 8 for sure and then maintenance sessions.  I have a few hairs I’ve noticed at the corners of my lips that aren’t “peachy” anymore and was wondering if I should get it done there too, but I don’t know if it’s worth it for about 6 hairs, lol.

I want to do laser hair removal on my chin and neck. I saw a Groupon near my area, but I just don’t have the money right now. Let me know how it turns out!

I’ve only had 1 treatment so far for my underarms but it’s amazing already. My skin is REALLY fair and my hair is REALLY dark. I can tell exactly which spots need more attention, though, which is neat.

@prisigtr:  is that something that happens with age??? because i also noticed my hair got darker – or is it birth control?  i feel like it had something to do with the pill, too, are you on the pill?

Wow I really want to get this done myself. I can’t imagine having my entire body done though I would LOVE to. How long does it take to do each area?

I can’t even do this. Apparently laser treatment doesn’t work at all on red hair…I’ll just watch wistfully.

/crying forever while I rip strips of hot wax off myself

@futuremrsk18:  hmm, good question! I’m not sure, I just attributed it to age and being Hispanic, lol. My mom has some darker hairs there and has plucked at her chin for years. But you may have something there with the pill (I’ve been off and on the pill since I was 18 and I’m 33 now).

I got a groupon for laser hair removal in my armpits as well as bikini line and so far it is fantastic! I have really light skin light medium brown hair and the laser has worked wonders! I’ve had 3 (I think) sessions and my hair grows back really slowly and much lighter. I imagine after 6 sessions I’m sure it will be totally (or as totally as it can be) gone.

Also one of the things I was worried about when I started was about if it would hurt but happily it hasnt at all. I don’t know what kind of technology your place will use but mine has very new technology and it basically feels  like a hot rock massage (hot but by no means painful). The one tip I do have for you is to shave as close to your appointment as possible (i usually do the nighy before or morning of) because although the laser doesnt hurt on your skin it will definitely shock/burn you a bit if it hits longer hair. Overall my experience has been great, it’s soooooo nice not to have to shave. Good luck!
