I have dark hair. I had laser hair removal done on my armpits a couple years ago. It wasn’t really effective, I still have to shave my pits like everyday. I really can’t tell the difference. I only did three sessions though…

The second and thrid time I went were more painful than the first, but it wasn’t terrible.

I have a tria… I’m haven’t been using it long enough to see results yet. It’s certainly not pain free, I’ll say that much.

I was surprised how little pain there was.  The first time I used the numbing cream and felt 100% no pain.  After that, I didn’t bother.  I find nicking myself shaving to be much more painful.

It didn’t make me hair free, but I still see a big difference.

I should go again, it’s just I don’t feel like taking the time out for it because the person I was seeing for it changed locations and is far away.  I started going for a skin condition, the change in hair growth was a nice bonus.  My skin condition improved so much where I don’t have the need for it as much.  As for what I would do differently – I would have started much younger!

The place recommends avoiding your period as it can be more painful.  I started purposely going when I will be off my BCPs, as that’s when my hair grows the fastest and thickest so I get better results – it’s the hairs actively growing that get the best results.

@Holly77:  Aww, the lady I went to told me 3-6. If it wasn’t so expensive, I would consider going back.

I did laser hair removal last year for my upper lip– I had a bad ‘stache going.

It took 5 sessions to completely get it all out…..since hair grows in patterns.  It wasn’t pleasant, but wasnt overly painful.  Probably b/c the sessions were like 5-6 minutes each so I knew I wouldn’t have to sit there forever…but man, when she went at those little hairs by my nose, WOWIE!

I coudln’t imagine the brazilian.  Whoever has that done is ONE BRAVE WOMAN.

@kay01:

the place I’m going to were really upfront in saying the maximum  treatments need. For me she said 8 would be the maximum because everyone’s treatment is different.  She said that a lot of places do underestimate so that you start treatment.

@Holly77:  Use the numbing cream if you’re worried about it!

@Holly77:  it basically feels like a hot rubber band snapping you.

I can’t even wax my hoo-ha, so there’s no way in hell that I would be able to do the laser hair removal down in that region.  Have you done waxes before?  If you can tolerate those, then you should be able to tolerate the laser hair removal down in the nether region….
