I had it done on my underarms ๐Ÿ™‚ The first couple times are a bit painful, I’ll be honest. Definitely worth it though! It worked perfectly, I’d recommend it.

I went once to get my legs done. It was too painful for me, though. I never went back lol

i LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT.  I have light skin and dark hair – so it’s perfect.  They give me numbing cream that i’ll put in about 30min beforehand. i’ll occasionaly feel a pinch, but its all super quick.   I get my bikini (all of it!), and my underarms.  I’ve had 3 sessions and i already see a difference! There’s obvious patchiness and bald spots, and the  hair that is coming in, is  lighter/thinner, and there’s no more black shadow under my arms.  Only problem now – i’m no longer allowed to wax down there, and i’m so awkard at shaving it all bc i’ve never done it….but eh, small price to pay ๐Ÿ™‚

I had it down on my bikini and it was well worth it. A bit uncomfortable but not horrible either. I definitely recommend it esp. to dark haired people.

I’ve gone to 3 different places for this. Here is my advice:

1. Be careful about the equipment they use: don’t go to a place that has IPL- it’s like a big flashlight. If it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t work… Feel free to ask for a free consultation and ask about their equipment. Candlemax is a good laser I think…

2. “hair removal” really means hair reduction. That being said- I am two treatments into a brazilian and LOVE it. My hair used to be thick adn bristly like a man’s beard and now it grows in extremely slow and is very thin like my leg hairs. This is just two treatments in, yay ๐Ÿ™‚ So don’t expect “not to shave again”, just less frequently. I hardly get any hair on my armpits, just on one spot and I’ve had 8 treatments (not with the same laser though).

3. It doesn’t take 4 treatments, it doesn’t take 6, find a place that guarantees 6 months free of touchups with a package of 6 treatments. You will probably have to have touchups every six months or once a year after the first year.

So far it has significantly lessened my hair growth and I can forget to shave my armpits for a week and they don’t look very hairy at all. I have yet to see long term benefits- but just lessening the hair and shaving every 3 days is worth every dollar.

i had it done about 6 years ago.  i have light asian skin and dark hair so i was an ideal candidate.  it took about 6 sessions spaced about 3-4 weeks apart.  it was expensive but well worth the money.  i see specials on groupon all the time.  i’m thinking about doing other body parts including my nape.  many celebs get their napes done so that when they put their hair up, it doesn’t look so messy.

@KansasPrincess11: Well, my package was 6 sessions also, but it took me 9. I was a rare case though- my hair was so thick that it just wouldn’t shave before, I’d still have stubble and was so uncomfortable in tank tops. So I’d say 6 is good for most people.

@Margaritachka: I tried numbing cream the first time, but it still hurt for me. The pain lessens each time though. And the lady doing the laser treatment was great- she gave me a stress ball to squeeze, lol, and just chatted with me the whole time so I tried to ignore the pains. I’d still say it’s worth it.

@danicalifornia: Hm, I haven’t needed touchups at all on my underarms and I had it done several years ago.

@galloway111: That’s great that it worked so well for you- I think the first two places I went to with groupons had cheap lasers or IPL or something…. this current place is working much better. It also could depend on the person/hormones. I just wanted to warn people that it doesn’t always work for the least amount of treatments, so be prepared to shell out more $$ if this is the case, in which it is better to plan ahead and find a place that has a 6 mo. guarantee

@danicalifornia: Very true, and I did have 3 extra treatments so that may have made a difference too.
