If you have dark hair in the area you want to laser (I’m assuming you do), then it will work perfectly!  I did laser removal on my bikini line.  It didn’t remove as much as I’d like b/c my hair gets blonde lower down, but all in all, it’s so worth it!  I don’t have to worry about shaving “down there” on a daily basis.  I’ve had 6 treatments so far, and one more to go, and that should be all I need.  Some places recommend up to 10 treatments, but you can play it by ear.  I say go for it!

No burns for me and I have REALLY sensitive thin skin.  It doesn’t feel good when they are doing it (I liken it to rubber bands snapping your skin for the first couple sessions), but afterwards I’m red for a couple hours and then good to go.  I’ve had no problems with technicians; I started going to Ideal Image which only does laser hair removal, and then I’m going to a day spa now.  Again, no problems, but the same type of laser.

I’ve been getting it done on lower leg and bikini for a while now. As long as it’s an actual laser place with trained techs and you don’t do any tanning, you will be fine. I don’t think burns are very common otherwise. It hurts a lot, but if you can take some aspirin and get through 30-45 minutes it’ll be worth it

I had my second laser treatment yesterday!(armpit area…)

It isn’t pleasant…ouch!

But to me it is worth it.

Just make sure you have a well trained technician.

I have gotten my armpit done and I LOVE it.  So worth it.

@weddingbound:  I’m actually going in two weeks for my first treatment! I’m getting my face done, I have PCOS so my facial hair is out of control plus I have super dark hair. Not going to lie that I’m nervous but I know it will hopefully be worth it! I hope yours works out!!!!

@weddingbound:  It really is a good deal!  When I started my treatments (years ago; had a gap in treatments due to pregnancy), it was over $1000 for bikini area.  Yikes!  Depending on the area you want done, you might have to pay more for an upgrade, FYI.  My groupon for the day spa was $99 for 3 sessions, and then I had to pay an extra $50 for “brazillian” because I keep my bikini area pretty trim.  Larger areas, like legs, etc, will probably require a more significant upcharge.

I haven’t had it done but I’ve been considering it.  Make sure to book in advance since I’ve heard that Groupon deals have a hard time booking sometimes.  And as others say make sure to see how much it will really cost you with extra charges for areas needed.

Darling Husband got a similar groupon deal because he gets horrible razor burn on his neck and wanted to get that area treated. I think they told him it works best on darker hair/lighter skin. I would just check out the reviews on the place before buying.

I got a Groupon like that! I got the $99 package and paid an upgrade fee to make it full bikini (Brazilian) instead of basic bikini (little off the top of the triangle). I’ve only had one treatment so far but I’m noticing a slight difference. They said I might not see much change till after 2 or 3. Mine is a 6-treatment package.

I don’t think it hurt too much at all, honestly – though my technician couldn’t believe how stoic I was. She says a lot of girls complain and some even CRIED. To me it felt like they were snapping a rubber band against my skin. It’s was uncomfortable, but not horrible. The laser was warm but not hot. I had redness for a few hours, but no real discomfort and definitely no burns.
