I was wondering if any of you would be interested in starting a last 10LBS thread where we can give each other advice and motivation for losing that very challenging last bit of weight.
Here’s a bit about myself:
I am a student and work part time, I have a good knowledge of fitness and nutrition but don’t always put it into practice.
The last few months I have not been exercising regularly and have been snacking on too many sweets throughout the day. My arms and tummy are looking puffy and I have started noticing unflattering ‘muffin tops’ sticking out over my favourite jeans. 🙁
I want to lose this weight mainly for health reasons and also to look cute in my wedding dress!
I am 5’4 and 135 LBS, my goal is to be a fit 125LBS. I would like to be at this weight by November 1st and then maintain it.
So how am I going to do it? Well, I am going to start training for a 5km run, which will help me lose the fat. I also joined a gym where I am going to do strength training and yoga.
For those interested in joining the thread please tell a little about yourself and your fitness/weight loss goals.

I would be into this. I’m also 5’4″ and our goal weight is the same althoguh I’m a couple pounds heavier than you (139). Im also training for a 5K later this month. Have you checked out the Couch-to-5K program? It’s amazing! Im also currently doing Beachbody’s INSANITY workout program. It’s a 60 day cardio program and really kicks my ass but I’m excited to see results. I haven’t yet (I’m on day 13 or something now) but I also havent been following the eating plan the way I should be.
I am a mom to an almost two year old daughter. I work PT as a waitress but am currently waiting to go to a job interview for sometihng that could turn into a career (writing).

I would like to join.
I am 5’5 and 138 and would really like to get under 130.
I started eating clean (no sugar, refined flours or perservatives) which means small meals 6 times a day and protein with every meal, its defintily helped loss some puffyness but its not really chaning the scale.
I do hot yoga 3-5 times a week (bikram and powerflower) and do notice a huge difference in my body when I go consistently.
But man this last 8 lbs does not want to leave.
Good luck all

Hi ladies, thank you for posting! Just reading your comments inspires me to up my workouts, you are both on the right track! I may need to start visiting this page more for added motivation. So how did things go for you in the last week?
Here’s my recap….
Diet was going really well, I was writing down what i was eating and adding up the calories. But then I was out of town for a few days this week so the diet was a little off. What’s a vacation without a few glasses of wine and a nice dinner or two, eh?! Anyway I’m back now so no excuses to not go back to the calorie counting… why must it be so hard to start eating healthy again though? 🙁
As for workouts.. wow I am out of shape… but I do feel pretty good about the running I did this week, even if it was only twice. It’s always hard to start working out again. My muscles are sore!
So I guess it wasn’t really a successful week for me, my weight is still the same and I did not exercise as mush as I had planned to.
My goals for the weekend and next week are to start eating healthy and writing down what I am eating. Also, to add in an extra run this week and to do weight training.
Do you have any goals for the coming week? please share!
ChantelleyLace, best wishes for your interview.
Horceez, hope things are still going well with the clean eating. I’ve done it a few times before so I know it’s tough at times, but it makes you feel so good knowing that you are you are doing something so healthy. I hope next time I post I will be able to say I have been eating clean as well. I must conquer this chocolate addiction!

This rocks. Mostly because, you ladies on here are all about my size with my goal. Sweetness.
I’m 5’4″ and I hover around 130/133/135. I teach full time and do my best to get to the gym 5 days a week, but honestly, with an ON YOUR FEET job, I’m pooped at the end of the day. 🙁
Wedding is aways away, but I am planning to do a boudoir shoot areound December (I know…just in time to eat a lot…) so I’m setting a goal of 120 by December 15.
I’m just going to set small goals for this week. Starting tomorrow, I will:
*Not drink soda (even though ALL I drink is diet) until Friday.
*Work out Saturday, Sunday, and AT LEAST 4 of the 5 workday evenings.
*Eat ONE piece of candy at work a day instead of FOUR. Ha! 🙂
We shall see. Maybe just THAT will make a difference! WE CAN DO IT, LADIES!

I’m 5’4 and weighed 121 at my wedding. I gained 8 pounds since and have been fluctuating between 125-129 for months now. I don’t want to lose 10 pounds, but I liked best at around 122, so let’s say, a 7pounds goal.
Before the wedding, I took a mix of green tea extracts and CLA, which helped with the last pounds, but you’re not supposed to take those for too long; and I am planning to get pregnant in the next months/year, so I don’t want to have crap in my system.
I am currently on week 5 of the P90x. BUT, as I was always very active, it is not through training that I will achieve my goal. I have to be extra careful with my diet.
The culprits? I’d say too much popcorn and big portions. Also, I am always watching carbs (gluten intolerent, so I don’t eat much) but lately I have been eating lots of pasta from the gluten free section and I suspect that cutting back a bit will help.
I just got back from a trip in Spain and France, and the food was really fatty compared to what I’m used to. Maybe getting back to my regular diet will bring me close to normal, we’ll see!
So, I start today at 129. I’ll check in next week! Good luck ladies!

I guess I’ll join since Workout Buddies is losing people left and right .
I’m 5’5″ and I’m usually around 130. I was in great shape for the wedding, toned and fit (though about the same weight). Since the wedding, I’m noticing that I have a bit of a tummy pooch again and my thighs seem to be bigger than ever.
I work full time and I’m taking 2 graduate classes to get my MBA so I don’t have a lot of free time. Some nights I have to go out and grab food before my classes so it’s tough to eat healthy.
I just started doing the 30 Day Shred this past week, have only done it once so far though!

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Workout buddies is getting smaller! Sad 🙁
I would like to join this as well! I am 5’4′ and fluctuate between 140 and 144 lbs at the present. I am actually down about 10 lbs from last year at this time, and I would like to get down to 130-135 lbs (or less!) by the end of the year. Then I will worry about maintaining that!
I work full time and am in 2 classes this semester – working towards a Masters of Engineering. I just feel so lazy – no excuses anymore! I am working on improving some of my eating habits, but I really need to get back into the habit of working out. Not that I don’t, but I am inconsistent. If I start working out and schedule it into my days, I think I will have more success. My problem area is my stomach! I would like to tone up my arms, upper back, and legs as well….but quite honestly, if I could tone up and flatten my stomach, I wouldn’t care so much about the other areas! I wouldn’t mind losing a bit of weight off my boobs as well (if I lose weight in my boobs, I know I am losing weight! haha).
Of course, it is great to have a bunch of friends you are accountable to as well – so don’t let me slack anymore!

@dance:Try to get a hold of Mari Winsor Pilates 20 minutes abs workout to flatten your stomach. I have worked for this video consistently years ago and it did wonders. It created a strong basis that I only have to maintain/improve by varying my workouts…
For me, it’s the butt and thighs… I was super happy before the wedding to buy a certain size of pants, but I feel them tight now. I don’t want to go up a size!
@egb: Oh I know what you mean! I don’t want to go up a size either. My jeans are a bit tight when I put them on but I just bought some new work pants from Express and they fit really well (except for seeing my saddlebags ick).

I’m in! I’ve been telling myself all year I’m going to lose about 10lbs. I’m 5′ 2″ and usually hoover around 130…before starting college I was always tiny, like 110lbs, and it’s not that I want to get back to that point exactly, but I want to be much closer than I am now!
I keep starting things, eating better, exercising, etc. but I get discouraged because I don’t see immediate results…I need someone to hold me accountable, which I beg my Fiance to do, but he doesn’t eat the greatest, so he’s not the best weight loss buddy. Maybe you girls can do better! I need to stop being lazy!

Good day. 🙂 No soda. ONE piece of candy despite much temptation. A good run and weightlifting.
Tomorrow, Sunday, will be the challenge.
Have a good night!

I’m soooo in! I’ve been trying to get rid of that last pesky 10 to 15 pounds and this could be just the motivation! 🙂
Post # 15
I did my second day of the 30 Day Shred. I’m not doing it every day because I don’t have time or the energy! I feel less tired than I did the first time but still couldn’t make it through all the cardio without a break because of my asthma.

I’ll join! Ultimately I’d like to lose close to 20 pounds, but 10 would get me back into my happy weight range. 🙂
I’m a waiting bee and I’m hoping to get back into a good weight range before Boyfriend or Best Friend asks a very important question. 😉
