I wanted to do the last song of the night as a fun group one, but I cannot find one that is fun to dance to.
I know the “last dance” by summers is typically used, but I really do not want to use that. Has anyone did a last group dance or just you and your hubby?
Thanks a million!

I have two ideas
Save the Last Dance for Me- Michael Buble or The Drifters
The Time of My Life- Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes (Dirty Dancing)
We’re doing Taylor Swift’s Enchanted.. but idk if that’s upbeat enough for you

Slow dance? I like Happy Trails by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans…. They used to play that at a bar I used to go to – that was always the last song and it was nice to see lots of 20-30ish get into the song…..
@flyawaycricket I LOVE save the last dance for me by Michael Buble – great idea!!!!!

Take me Home tonight by Eddie Money is ours. 🙂
Otherwise, Piano Man is another fun one I’ve seen at weddings.

We did The Specials “Enjoy Yourself” , here is a youtube link (sorry it’s one of those that makes you sit through an ad first) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPd_awQuH4o
Not sure if your crowd will be familiar with it, but our crowd sure was, and the lyrics are pretty spot-on for a last song!

- Wedding: July 2012 - Baltimore Museum of Industry
“Shout” had more people on the dance floor than any other song. It was our next-to-last song, and if I could redo it, I would have made it our last. “Proud Mary” (Ike & Tina version) was also a lot of fun.

We’re using Empire State of Mind (Part II) by Alicia Keys and Jay-Z. Not sure if it works as well outside of New York though!

I wanted the Dirty Dancing song, but FH vetoed that (he only gets one veto).
So instead, I want to go with something super cheesy from the late 80s/early 90s that people haven’t heard forever but will immediately make them say “I remember this song!”. I have the ipod on now rotating through the Debbie Gibson/New Kids on the Block/Tiffany/Hair Bands, etc, trying to find the right song.

Our last dance song was epic. Everyone got in a circle and put their arms around each other and swayed back and forth. For some of it Darling Husband and I got in the center and slow danced a bit. Super cheesy? You bet. Enjoyed by the guests? Oh yeah! Memorable? For sure!
The song: Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. Everyone knows the words and after a few cocktails it is just so fun to scream it out. It is such an amazing end the night song that my favorite 80’s coverband, 16 Candles just started using it as THEIR last song!
I say find a song that is universally known, that can be sung to and is timeless. That combo will make for a great way to end the night. 🙂

We danced to a mashup of U2’s “With or Without You” and Usher’s “Without You”

Definitely “Don’t Stop Believin'”!

@baletrina: This was almost exactly the same experience we had with “Don’t Stop Believin”! (minus the dancing int he center part – it was just a giant circle of arms around shoulders and dramatic singing and swaying!) We were on the fence about using it, because it can seem a bit overdone, but I am SO glad we did! It was a perfect way top end the night 😀

We had Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon as the last song of the night.

Thank you all!! These are wonderful suggestions

Shout was our last dance song. Everyone was on the dance floor. It really finished off the night on a high.
