As some of you know, my relationship with Fiance has been terribly strained. Financial trouble, baby mama drama, a new move and lots of other stressors have caused a rapid decline in our previously happy relationship.
Tears, arguments and sleeping separately have taken a major toll on both of us. His ex seems determined to make things difficult and instead of coping with it in a healthy way I have been dwelling on it. I find that most nights Fiance and I will pour a stiff drink to deal with our upsets. We were at a point of drinking basically every night and after a few drinks the tears would flow and the arguments would get more intense. Money was tight so we haven’t gotten out much and in the dead of winter we are limited in our outdoor activity options.
We decided together that we must make a change and do everything we can in an attempt to salvage the relationship. As I said before, we started couples therapy. I also went out and bought some vitamins and supplements. I got us a cheap gym membership so we can do something positive together. I have sworn off alcohol and I am hoping once he sees that I am not drinking it inspires him to cope with his stress in a healthier way.
Wish me luck, bees. I have felt pretty hopeless these past several weeks. I am hoping and praying now that somehow we can turn this around. If anyone else has any suggestions I would love to hear them.
