I need some cheering up, bees. Fiancé and I are getting married Thursday. We picked this beautiful gazebo in a historic park. I love this place. It’s rustic, cute and perfect scenery for pix. It’s just us, his kids, and our parents and then we were going to dinner after the ceremony and pix. Well, the weather here has been terrible. Who would have thought june would be this shitty? The high is 60 and 70% chance of rain all day. We’ve been checking for the past two weeks and the weather just keeps getting worse. Today we pulled the plug and booked a chapel. Good thing they have a minister bc our officiant won’t drive the extra 10 min. I am still waiting to hear back from my photographer if she can make it but the chapel only allows us to be there for 30 min. Won’t be able to get many pix anyway. I’m super sad. This isn’t what I envisioned. Maybe we’ll hire a photographer to take bridal shots in a month if the weather ever decides to cooperate. 🙁

I’m sorry! Where I’m from in the Midwest, June is always pretty crappy….definitely the rainiest month!
It’s awesome that you were able to pull together your plan B so quickly!

Aww bee i’m sorry. Just glad you were able to get another little venue though. It will all work out. Good luck to you. And have a beautiful wedding.

So sorry about that :/ the weather here has been crazy CRAZY hot after a while of being strangely cold for this time of year. Great job on getting a backup plan all hammered out. All the best to you and your growing family!! I’m positive it’ll be lovely!!

Good for you for quickly coming up with a plan B. A little chapel sounds lovely.
Look on the brightside, you get to wear your dress twice and get more photos with your sweetie down the line when the weather is more cooperative. Focus on the best part of the day itself so it is not all about regret and the venue. That will only make for sad memories for both you and your husband.
Congrats on finding the person of your dreams!

Aw, I’m sorry, the weather here is horrible too 🙁
I’ve seen some amazing rainy wedding photos with colourful umbrellas, reflections in puddles, black and white shots, mystical misty shots…. Does the photographer have some ideas? For example, could you still get some photos under the gazebo with a moody sky dramatically behind you? eg http://enmuseart.com/dancing-in-the-rain/ I’d say buy some wellies and brollies and rock it!
And I agree with a pp that it would be lovely to wear the dress a second time too.

I actually love rainy wedding photography. My sister got married in December in the PNW (so lots of rain) and bought everyone those clear bubble umbrellas. The pictures were so beautiful.

I will agree with the other bees that rainy pics with umbrellas can be absolutely gorgeous!!!
