Hi bees, I’m a longtime lurker and have learned a lot from others’ post but never done one myself. My wedding is in a week and I just picked my dress up today. I sweat a lot, and I use Secret Clinical Strength. It works pretty well for me but still, I have sweat stains in my long-sleeve (satin) dress from my fittings and my seamstress/dress shop refused to help spot clean today when they steamed it for pickup.
So now I have one underarm stain and I’m worried that it’ll ruin my photos ((not to mention i’m sure i’ll sweat buckets more throughout the day)).
Any ideas on how to spot clean a satin dress? Is it worth trying? It’s got a lower layer of satin, upper netting. She warned me water will show up worse on satin.
HELP! Any ideas?

Oh no! I sweat a lot too and am worried about this. I would maybe call around to some dry cleaners and see if they could spot clean for you? I would be afraid to do it myself (and can never get sweat stains out anyway).

I have no help for the current sweat stains, but I highly recommend you order Driclor on Amazon, I haven’t found it in the US just online. I used to sweat through ALL deodorants until I found this one, you apply it once every two weeks and it works wonders. I don’t have to wear black all the time anymore!!!!

OK, on my wedding day I was carrying my bouquet of red flowers to the car to go to the ceremony and they somehow transfered red color to my very white dress right on my boob area. Fortunately I’d purchased little emergency kit from the Hollywood tape company and inside the kit they had included a fabric stain remover moist towelette. I used it and the big red stain just disappeared.
I’d look into the stain remover towelette. Lots of different companies make them and I assume they’d all be made with the same active ingredients. That might help lift the sweat stain. if not I second gojng to the dry cleaner and asking them to spot clean it for you.

Try taking it to a dry cleaners, they will know best how to clean it.
For the day of, can you hide sweat guards in your dress? That might be the best option for an all-day event where you’ll surely be sweating.
