He could pay for an expediated one but it’s costly! Also, don’t change your name if you’re not changing your passport first!!! I have to wait to do my name change because the honeymoon is at the end of the month, so we’re gonna wait until we’re back to do all that fun paperwork, or else the flight tickets won’t be honored!

Depending on where you are located, he can get his passport same day… This is a site I send clients to all the time when they realize that someone in their group didn’t get their passport like they said they would.

http://travel.state.gov/passport/npic/agencies/agencies_913.html  had to take a client down to the Miami passport office the day after Christmas, takes them a couple hours to do it same day, but at least it will be done. And the cost is the same as if it was expedited.

Where are you located? Are you looking for a way to get tropical without a passport, or just a place to fly/drive to for a long weekend?

Can Americans fly to Hawaii without a passport?  Alaska?  I like both of those places and think they’d be good for a honeymoon 🙂

Disneyworld?

Where are you located?  If you’re closer to the west coast, I’d say Hawaii… though, it’s pretty expensive I’ve heard.  I’m on the East coast and have been to Puerto Rico— it’s beautiful, so if you’re over here I suggest Puerto Rico!  No passport required.  And you mentioned a cruise– that’s a great idea as well.  You don’t usually need a passport for cruises, but I would check before officially booking.  Also, the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John).

the passport is a non-issue.  he could apply routine now and still have it in plenty of time (4-6 wks from application).  expedite is add’l $60 but still only 2-3 wks from application.  quicker than that is available but only in emergency (you’ve got proven travel in less than 2 wks) and even then you have to go through a main agency which could be a long day.

take him to apply for his passport now, and then go wherever you want!

We just went on a cruise for our honeymoon and Darling Husband had a certified copy of his birth certificate and his id and no problems. You can only do that on closed loop cruises. We left from Miami and had stops at Half Moon Cay, Bahamas; St. Thomas; San Juan, PR and Grand Turk. Loved our stops, especially Puerto Rico. If you go last minute, you can sometimes get really great deals. the only problem might be airfare, but if you live close to a port, you may not have to worry about that. If you have any questions about cruises, send me a message…

Key West or Sedona.  Save money for the big trip.  🙂
