So Fiance and I already know that our honeymoon is going to be Nov 1-8. We are leaning towards a cruise, but my mom has told me that the closer it gets to the departure date, the cheaper it gets. So we are going to take a chance and wait- how long do you think is too long to wait before booking something? We are flexible about what we do- we just want a nice beach and restaurants. Should we book the trip a month before? 2 weeks? What do you think? November’s not exactly a hot vacation time anyway, is it?

Yes, it is. November, December, and January are big traveling months for going South. That is the peak travel season for places like Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. I don’t know much about when the best time to book is, though.

If you are planning to do last minute, you may need to be fleyible on dates, especially with a cruise. You may find a good deal with a departure date on Nov. 2 or 3 for example, does that mean you won’t book? Think about this before waiting too long because you’ll get better rates within your dates if you book now. I’m sure you will find something last minute anyway, it just might not be a cruise.
