I went to my first fitting today and got great news, my dress fit like a glove and only needs a bustle for alterations. The problem was the shoes that I have had for months are to tall! I ordered my dress in petite (the consultants suggestion) so I would not have to get it hemmed, she told me a one to two inch shoe should be fine…I chose a 1 1/2 inch heel and it is far to tall. The alterations lady told me my best bet would be a wedge ( because the ceremony is outside on the grass) no bigger than 1/2 an inch. I searched all over the city today trying to find a short wedge that feels at least a little bridal, and is not outrageously expensive ( since I already spent my shoe budget) I am pretty sure it doesn’t exist! I am about to throw in the towel and go with my cowboy boots ( something my bridal party is 100 % against) our theme is burlap and lace and semi formal so it wouldn’t be so out of place.. Do any of you shoe fiends have suggestions?! My dress is the Karena Royale in all ivory if that helps…. thanks Bees!
