Hey, I don’t know if this is appropriate to post on the beauty forum or not, but I have a question. I’m getting married on Sunday and I wanted to get a bikini wax and possibly an upper lip wax beforehand…this is kind of embarrassing, but I don’t know who else to ask! Is 5 days before the wedding too soon to do this stuff? I have sensitive skin and usually never wax, but I feel like I should for the wedding. I only have peach fuzz on my upper lip but I’m concerned about it showing up in the pictures.
I didn’t have time to do a trial for this one month before the wedding, and now the clock is ticking! However, especially for the upper lip area, I am paranoid that it might cause a breakout. Any advice?

5 days is probably perfect (unless you know you don’t react well). It usually takes me 2-3 days for the redness to go down after a brazilian. I have no advice about your lip, though!

If you’ve never waxed your upper lip – I wouldn’t do it 5 days before the wedding. When I first started waxing it – I broke out bad and was pretty red for a week or so. The times after that first time were fine – but, I’d be so scared. If it’s just peach fuzz – it should be fine in pictures!
Bikini will be fine! I have sensitive skin and am usually red for 1-2 days afterwards….

I would say definitely don’t do the upper lip, especially 5 days before the wedding.
I have sensitive skin too and first time lip waxing left me a with some red patches for a few days…I’m also pretty fair so the red was very noticable
You might be able to get away with the lip waxing IF you’ve done it before but I really really wouldn’t chance having an allergic reaction or (goodness-forbid) the esthetician accidentally burning you!!
As for the bikini wax…even after a few years of regular bikini waxing, I still have some red dots but only far a day or two after…I’d be more willing to chance a bikini wax because that won’t be showing up in your wedding pictures!!

Maybe Nair is safer?
I know many people that breakout after waxing for anywhere on the face so I wouldn’t do it if you’ve never tested your skin reactions before.

Okay, this is good to hear! I will forego the upper lip waxing. I tend to have reactions to all kinds of hair removal and so I would probably have some kind of issue and then end up looking very strange in the wedding pictures. I’ll just go for the bikini wax. Thank you all so much!

Don’t wax your lip now – you may break out or get accidentally burned. I would do Nair or some other cream like that. Bikini – you’re OK to do it now!
