stephaniee24 :  Cash is always good. Other options are gift cards to Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, etc. so she can choose a home decor to her liking. The gift card does not need to be a ginormous amount.

Cash in a card is best- don’t give her anything she didn’t register for. Its ok to wait a bit until you can afford to give a gift- just let her know. Not giving a gift at all is really tacky but you don’t have to specifically show up with a present. You have some leeway with time.

stephaniee24 :  Not sure how last minute. Do you have time to go to the store to get something they might need or like? Do you know what they like? I know we got some nice items that weren’t on the registry but very much appreciated, some champagne. It doesn’t have to be fancy champagne either (I mean I’ll drink it with some OJ mmmm).

But if it’s super last minute coming up this weekend or next, I would come with a card and send a gift later of something you can afford. I like the teapot suggestions too. I also like the TJMAXX, ROSS gift basket idea. I used to do that when I was a broke college student for Christmas baskets and they were cheap and awesome and I got a lot of compliments on them. You can get name brand stuff there too. I always got a cheap basket there because at regular stores the basket itself is expensive!!!

RE: Black Dress – Yes black is fine. Most people at our wedding wore black or some version of black. You can always punch it up with a colorful accessory. This is also what I do to save money on my wardrobe! I’ll throw on a scarf or statement necklace to an old ensemble and voila! New outfit. 🙂

That was SUPER last minute!!! I wouldn’t stress about not showing up to the wedding with a gift- she’d be nuts if she expected you to budget for and find something that fast 🙂

There is a rainbow anniversary sundial (a cool clock that uses the sun to tell time) that you can find online, we have one in our house and it is awesome. It sits on the window sill in our family room and makes really great rainbows in the room when the sun shines. We had it made just for us with a date line for our anniversary day that the time shadow follows every year on our special day. They have gift certificates that you can order and print out, we give them as wedding gifts sometimes (especially if we have to travel) and it is a great reason to go off registry…then when the couple gets settled in they can have a custom sundial made for their new home. We have had ours for quite some time, and it makes a show every year on our anniversary…so it is actually a gift that does something special for the couple every year on their anniversary for as long as they are together!
