I don’t know what it is, but everything seems to go wrong.
chalk board art where you make a mistake and wash it and the black paint washes off.
cake maker going out of business and cannot now make you cake.
church organiser not confirming with priest his availabilities.
gah the list goes on.
worst one recently is the wedding planner not making the rehearsal date because it was moved to the night before the wedding. I mean, if you are wedding planner, am i wrong to assume that the night before the wedding is one of the times you should not book another client?
Am I alone in this crazyness or are there other girls with things falling apart around them? Bridemaids, family, friends, SO, just don’t seem to understand the new level of stress weddings are.

@Cheekyduck: Awwww hugs! I’ve been there. I think I cried more times than I care to admit in the weeks leading up to our wedding day. I know this sounds cliche right now, but I promise it will all come together, one way or another! Just take a moment, and breathe, and if you need to, take a break from planning!

I’m sorry that things feel like they’re falling apart right now *hugs*. Everything WILL come together though and everything will be amazing!

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
@Cheekyduck: The best piece of advice I received for my first wedding was that as the bride you set the tone for the wedding. If you look visibly upset then your guests will know something is wrong. If you smile and deal with all the little mistakes, the guests will have no idea things aren’t perfect. Honestly, the mistakes that occured at my first wedding became funny stories as the years went on because I allowed myself to just enjoy the day and not get stressed out over the little things.
Chalkboard art – don’t wash it! Just wipe it clean, it doesn’t have to look perfect and clena but for the letters; it will look more releaistic with some chalk smudges
Cake maker – You have enough time to find another baker. Here I am using a local grocery store and I don’t even have to order my cakes until the week of the wedding since I am using regular cakes (which they decorate beautifully anyway) instead of actual wedding cakes. Maybe even do a dessert bar with ready made desserts if you are over the cake.
Priest/Church Organizer – That might be a problem so I would stay on top of it until you get confirmaiton they can marry you.
Wedding Planner/Rehearsal – My rehearsal for my first wedding was non-existant because my mom and I got into a car accident on the way to the venue. We figured everyhting out a few hours before the ceremony and it really didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things because I walked down the aisle just fine and that’s all anybody really cares about anyway.

@Cheekyduck: Oh my gosh, I am right there with you!
We had our final meeting with the DJ and he bashed all the songs we had picked out and suggested a bunch of stuff we hated. So now we’re looking for a new DJ.
My dress fitting went terribly. It looks awful right now and I’m hoping and praying it’ll be fixed at the next appointment. If not, I might be looking for a new dress…
On top of all that we bought a new house and are trying to get moved in before the wedding (in 30 days). AND my car died last night. So it’s in the shop for the next week or so.
When it rains it pours, amiright? Everyone keeps asking me if I’m excited, but I just can’t wait for all the stress to be over. I have to keep reminding myself how happy and joyous this should all be and how blessed I am. And that I’ll be on the beach in Mexico soon… 🙂

Oh sweetheart! I’m right there with you. My wedding is next Friday and I swear everyone is driving me nuts. I cringe when I wake up in the morning and realize I probably have 1,000,000 emails from people asking questions (most of which they could figure out on the wedding website. My to-do list is a mile long.
My whole life is consumed with planning this one event. I’m stressed, my mom is stressed which also makes for some great arguments.
Last night I just left my house for a good hour. Took a drive. Rolled down the windows and eventually parked where I could watch the lights turn. Of course I got 15 phone calls asking where I was but hey, I did what I had to do without snapping.

3 days left for me. Sunday my florist backed out so I was left with 500 flowers and no one to put them together. (Thankfully my mom has a friend)
i found out that I will be 6 weeks pregnant at my wedding. There goes the memosas and fun tropical drinks on my honeymoon!
my uncle is in the hospital and won’t be out in time for my wedding 🙁
my cousin had another crazy trip and is back in the psyc ward
my Future Mother-In-Law just called me yesterday saying so and so will be bringing a guest! (4Days before my wedding) i guess it’s a good thing people had to drop out but now I need to re-do the seating charts…

I have good news and bad news…
The bad news is, it gets worse before it gets better.
The good news is that it does get better…I think…I hope lol.
I’ve reached the point now where I’m having physical issues b/c of the stress & kind of melting down all too often… But, then someone reminds me to think about what REALLY matters, and I calm down some.
Hang in there.
