Thank you ladies so much for all your voting and helpful input. I know the ball gown was the front runner in the last poll, but I honestly can’t go ahead and buy something I never got to try on. I think it is a bit too sweet for the sexy/edgy feeling I want, and my Fiance does not like ball gowns. (and it is his day too- I want him in a black suit, if he turned up in a navy tux even though he knew I didn’t like those I would be disappointed). I did some quick edits (lol, only have Paint at work) to get an idea of the fullness of te skirts once there is crinoline underneath and some minor tweaks. I just drew a grey sort of line where I would put a blingy belt onto the mermaid. So, help! Thoughts please! If you think I am too plus sized for a mermaid, please tell me. My friends won’t, they are afraid of hurting my feelings.

@MissLibra: I think you look fabulous in the mermaid.

@MissLibra: My first instinct is to go safe with the a-line because I really like the neckline. But then you said you wanted sexy and the mermaid is definitely sexier.

@MissLibra: I love the fit n flare!

I voted the Aline, I think the mermaid draws additional attention to your chest/upper body, I know as a plus sized woman I don’t want that.. but if you do.. then I would go for the mermaid.

I think the mermaid is more flattering than the A-line. You look gorgeous! 🙂

It is funny how the mermaid wins in the comments, but not in the polls!

Mermaid! IMO it shows off your curves nicely – the A-Line, while beautiful, doesn’t do your body justice. Tailored right, you’re a total knockout in the mermaid!

The A-line makes you look thinner.

Mermaid! I typically really dislike the mermaid silhouette bc I feel it looks roo constricting. But on you, it looks like it just floats over your curves and hugs in the right places. It accentuates your hips nicely, whereas the a line sort of camouflages them. I also love the neckline and lacey look of the bottom.

I would go with the A-line. I think it is much more flattering on you. I don’t think you are too plus sized for the mermaid, but I don’t think you quite have the right shape for that mermaid dress. I think your fiance will think you are sexy and GORGEOUS in that A line – it looks perfect and hits you in exactly the right spots!! Good luck!!

Umm…I like the mermaid, the Aline does look very nice on you, but I don’t care for the Aline dress you picked. What are you more comfortable in? Do you think you look unflattering in the mermaid? Your pictures last forever….how are you going to see yourself in 50 years looking back?

Mermaid – without a doubt
