“New” and “Old” dress:
“New” and “Old” dress:
It seems an unfair comparison when you don’t have a front-on photo of the first dress, but I like the second better, based on how awesome it makes your body look. But that’s only if you can get it to look like the photo on the left.
@clairebbbear: fair enough! here’s a pic from the front:
but I don’t think it does justice to this dress, because the band is lopsided (easily fixed; the stitching fell off), and the waist is not clipped in. I think it would look so much better in my size, and with the band fixed up!
@patchy: still like the “new” dress better. I don’t like the straight neckline in the first dresss, and combime a horozontal neckline with a horizontal empire line band, it just cuts you into thirds and makes you look angular.
Are you sure you can get the new dress to actually look like that on your body though?
Well, I think you already know I prefer your original dress to the ‘new’ dress…and the latest one, it’s okay but nothing special. I find the satin underbust band thing quite distracting, can it be removed?
But the cloud dressvis amazing too
@clairebbbear: I will probably remove the band, don’t really like unnecessary froofroo on my dresses.
at the store with the ‘old’ dress, ALL of their dresses (from different brands!) fit me the same. it’s because they use these giant clips at the back of the dress. the store with the ‘new’ and ‘cloud’ dress only use pins, and the dresses do not fit as tight.
since I have no fat around my waist, dresses hang off me rather than reshaping any ‘curves’, so I’d think any dress would fit about the same as long as it was tight enough.
@peonyinparis: yes, I will probably remove the satin underbust band thing. but it was stitched in on the sample one, so I couldn’t just rip it off. haha~
well, I felt the most special in the “cloud” dress. :’) I just didn’t want to take it off! also I’m nervous the “old” dress won’t fit the same way it looks like clipped. I mean it looks pretty horrible in the model pic. >.<
@patchy: I think you need to try your old dress on again to see how you feel about it, i personally love your old dress i would have loved a ballgown but they just looked weird on me.
If you try the old dress on and you don’t feel the samego with the cloud coz it is lovely.
I clearly am reading that you want the Cloud Dress… and to be sure one’s Wedding Dress SHOULD make one FEEL Amazing as well as look beautiful.
From a stictly look on you element… as an outsider, looking in, I would have to say that DRESS # 2 – THE NEW ONE is the one that makes you look the best from a body prespective.
Words cannot describe how INCREDIBLE that dress looks on you… as if it was DESIGNED JUST FOR YOU
Dress # 1 and Dress # 3 are nice for sure… BUT they just don’t have that WOW Factor that Dress # 2 has
Hope this helps,
@This Time Round: dress #2 was photoshopped to fit! maybe I overdid it? it originally looked like this:
I changed the silhouette and made the waist match #3, which was clipped (for fairer comparison).
but once the dresses are made to order I think they’ll fit about the same. I guess it’s mainly design I’m asking about?? and this is what I had in mind:
add lace cap sleeves and take away the waistband thing. 😡
but it’s cool to hear other opinions, I’m actually pretty happy because last time everybody voted for ‘old’ over ‘new’ I second-guessed myself, but this time I’m still satisfied with this decision so I feel it’s the right one.
@nearly-mrs-R: I really want to try on the ‘old’ dress again, but the dress shop sold out of it. who knows when they’ll order more in to try on! sigh~ also my mom doesn’t like it, so I have pretty mixed feelings about that.
@patchy: Ah, if your mom doesn’t like it – I can understand that complicates matters a lot.
Now that you’ve removed the underbust strap thing and added the soft tulle sleeves, I like the Cloud dress a lot more. I would perhaps lower the bustline slightly and alter it to a sweetheart.
I love the Cloud dress, LOVE I! Wasn’t crazy about the band thought so in your altered picture in post #12 I think it’s perfect =!
