I’m a bit bummed with the nice weather coming out but the aches and pains starting. I’m finishing up my 31st week and my pelvis started hurting when I run and afterwards so I’ve had to stop for now. Luckily walking mainly feels OK still (except if I’ve gone on a run). But sometimes even lifting my legs to put on pants makes my pelvis achy. I think my ligaments are just loosening up too quickly or at least that’s what it feels like.
Anyone get the ligament wobbles and then it go away or is this just how the next 2 months are going to be?

Ugh, if I walked a lot or sometimes stood up or moved too quickly, I’d get this shooting pain through my pelvis and I’d swear the baby was just about to fall right out. It will probably continue on and off as you get closer to the end.

I’m 36 weeks and walking is AWFUL. My right leg goes numb half the time, I feel like I’ve been kicked repeatedly in the crotch, and whenever the baby moves or I move I get shooting pains around where I think my bladder is or once was. My doula said I should try to start walking 30-60 minutes/day, and my husband pointed out that at my current speed that’s about to the end of the block and back.

I never had too much of an issue walking (or waddling, as it was it was in the last couple months), but I definitely felt that pain whenever I laid down from about 33/34-ish weeks on. Sorry, it probably won’t go away until the baby’s born. 🙁 Your joints actually loosen up in the last trimester so your pelvis widens and the baby can get through, but that means you’ll be dealing with for a little while. One of the “joys” of pregnancy, I guess.

I’m 36 weeks and the ligament pains are bad. One time at the OB I laid down too quickly on the table and I got a cramp in one of my ligaments that took about a minute to go away! I’ve definitely had the shooting pains that @Lozza: is talking about. They come out of nowhere and they hurt! I recently have been seeing a chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy and babies and my hips and back have gotten some relief from that.

Ah well, I was hoping to be super mommy and keep up a good running schedule till right before she came, it doesn’t hurt to bike on the trainer yet so I guess I still have that for now.
Luckily her little kicks are adorable to make up for the aches.

Bloating, got to add this one to the list now. Not really in my stomach but in my ankles and legs. This gets a big thumbs down.

try swimming! walking and running are def. hard on the joints near the end, and can cause achiness that lasts for a while. give yourself some leeway to relax, its amazing you have been able to run for so long!! i say you still get “super mommy” status 🙂

@Sunchick19: I keep thinking about swimming and it would be great on the joints. The thought of chlorine makes me naseous though, I’m afraid I’d puke in the pool. I might test it out soon though. It’s just been even cleaning supplies with a bit of a bleachy smell have made me gag a bit during pregnancy.

I’m not in my 3rd trimester; but I try to avoid anything strenuous, one time I was only dancing at my friends wedding bash but tried not to move my lower part of my body too much because I didnt want anything bad to happen and used my arms, after the party I felt like I pulled a ligament or strained something in my pelvis, wow, I didnt think that would happen until later on
another time I was dancing again one night, the next day, I felt my lower abdomen cramping, guess your body tells you how much you can do and when to take it easy

For me at least it didnt get that much better.. I know thats not reassuring. But Once everything is starting to loosen up it doesnt go back. Maybe no more running lol. All in all tho it wont be to bad.. And you will have a really great outcome lol.
