I based my answer off people I know in my age range who were married in their early 20’s. That left me with 40% of couples still being married, 60% divorced within the first 5pot so years. If I had included all the people my parents age who got married in their early 20’s – well, most of them are still together. I find it shocking how few of my friends who marriedoung have made it work.

I got married at 22 or so, and I got divorced. I am getting married again right after I turn 30… I know a number of folks in my age bracket that got married and divorced by now. Some of them are still married. It really all depends. My older sister got married at 18 and still is, but she is very, very miserable. She just stays because it is what she is used to. My FI’s sister got married at 18 and got divorced. She is remarried; she got married at like 32 or something like that. It is hard to say. I think that for me it was better to get to know myself and realize that there was someone much more suitable out there for me. My mom’s second marriage lasted for over 25 years until my dad passed, God rest his soul. I think that first marriages, especially at a young age can fail because people tend to grow and change over time. It is possible to grow apart and fall out of love that way…
