(Closed) Late morning/Noon Ceremony – Afternoon Reception?

I’d love to see what others think. I’ve actually been invited to a wedding where the ceremony was around noon and the reception at 6 pm, but we ended up not going, so I can’t say how convenient/inconvenient that would have been from a guest’s standpoint.

My friend just did something similiar last summer. She had (tiny) 25 person ceremony in the early afternoon and then we did pictures for 4 + hours and showed up to the reception at around 6pm for the ‘party’.

The family that went to the ceremony just went home or to their hotel room until the reception. We didn’t hear anyone complain and since it was only 1/4 of the reception guests – it didn’t seem to throw off the party either.

Family told us that they just kind of hung out or went shopping to pass the time. Some changed since the reception was meant to be more casual. …That’s pretty much it…
