We’ve got just over 2 weeks til the RSVP deadline and are still missing over 100 (with only about 25 already in). I was just wondering if this was the norm. Any of you experienced ladies (or frequent RSVPers) know if people usually wait until really close to the deadline? Set my troubled mind at ease!

I’d be surprised if you didn’t get any late RSVPs! Wait until your RSVP date passes, and then start phoning people you still haven’t heard from. But you’ve still got 2 weeks, plenty of time to get a ton more in.

Totally agree with gcwest—if you get all of your RSVPs back then you are going to be one lucky lady. For some reason, some people just never do at all. Some people think they only need to RSVP if they are coming and some people only think they need to RSVP if they aren’t coming back. Why they think this way, not sure, but it’s a huge issue for any person throwing a party. Split up the list and have people call for you starting a few days after so you can get your numbers together soon enough for your caterer.

Yes it’s normal, you will have to call a lot of people after the deadline too. I think we had about 25 people we had to call.

Hi date twin. I’m in the same boat. We sent out about 85 invitations, and so far we’ve received 43 RSVPs. I’m hoping I don’t have to call TOO many people once our deadline hits! *fingers crossed*

Ok, thanks all! I feel better 🙂

Yeah….our deadline was today and we’re still missing about 65 people. And that was AFTER sending out reminder postcards 2 weeks ago. People STINK at RSVPs. One of my friends told me it’s because I’m doing the non-traditional online RSVP and she just “couldn’t figure it out.” I’m like, “YOU’RE 23! You can use a freaking computer! The internet is not a giant mystery to you! My 83 year old grandmother figured it out, so suck it up!” (Sidenote: I also provided a phone number, so that’s no excuse.) GAH. People INFURIATE me!
As you can tell, the RSVP thing is a bit of a touchy subject for me at the moment. 😛
