You can get pregnant even taking BC perfectly, so skipping it only ups your risk for pregnancy.

So unless you don’t care if you get pregnant by accident, maybe you should look into getting a monthly ring put in or the shot? I’ve heard good things about the ring.

I agree – look into other methods

I personally was on the shot for a couple of years and loved it (as much as you can love BC I guess..) but it doesnt match everybody , do what is right for you – talk to your DR

I would look into an alternate method. I have a hard time taking a pill every day let alone at the same time so I can understand. The shot did not work for me in that I gained weight. But I do hear good things about the ring.

I would be most worried about the skipping, not so much as taking it a few hours earlier ir later.

Yeah , I didnt gain any weight – but again everyone is different

and in contrast I had a friend that was on the ring and she blew up .. (she is off of it now and has almost lost all the weight)

I needed the shot or else I would have been the octomom by now … there was no way I can remember to take a pill .

Yeah, I would look into another bc method.  That’s the reason I was on the shot years ago and used to be on the nuva ring because I knew I wouldn’t be able to take the pill regularly.

@Evie19: I’ve found over the years that if I take it before I go to bed, that it’s the only time I will actually remember to take it! The time varies a little bit every day, but I have hardly ever forgotten to take it. Maybe just switching the time of day you take yours will help?

Definitely get a backup method. It’s better to over-prepare than to find out you’re expecting and not ready or wanting a baby. Good luck!

@Evie19: I was on the ring for a year and really liked it. Didn’t really have any side effects and got used to it pretty quick. AND it was so nice to put it in and NOT think about it for 21 days.. take it out.. and then put in a new one 7 days later. I could never keep up with taking the pill AND they made me super nauseous EVERY mth so yea… ring was so for me! =)
