- Wedding: September 2015
Hello everybody, I wanted to share an experience that I had dealing with Lavigueur Jewellers here in Ottawa. My fiancée and I were shopping for a wedding band for our upcoming wedding. We chose a beautiful half eternity .50CT wedding band in a platinum setting and negotiated the price with the sales associate. The associate then requested a 30% deposit which I gladly paid expecting the ring to arrive in 3 weeks.
A couple of days later I then received a call from the St Laurent store explaining that I was undercharged for our new ring and that an additional $1000 was needed. I clearly stated that I will not pay anything higher than what my receipt indicated. This is price that the store quoted and what we agreed upon. My receipt shows the price of the ring with the upgrade to a platinum band with taxes and that is all I was willing to pay.
After several phone calls I have now been informed that our ring will not be sold to us at the price that was quoted from the St Laurent location and to come pick up our deposit. As a first time customer with this business, there is certain level of customer service that should be expected. Many other stores would honor the price that was given, even though there was an error. Their website states:
Nous sommes soucieux d’appliquer la politique du vrai prix dans nos magasins, de là s’est bâtie une relation de confiance avec notre clientèle. Notre but est que nos clients soient toujours gagnants et satisfaits
Basically which translates to real pricing in their stores, relationships built on trust with their customers and that their customers are always satisfied.
This is pile of BS. We were actually considering this company for returned business in regards to our wedding party gifts. We will not be returning to any of the Lavigueur stores for future business and I wanted share this poor experience with all the newlyweds out there. So beware of Lavigueur Jewellers!! Not worth the headache!!
