I haven’t made one but I was considering purchasing one like this from Etsy. It is probably pretty easy to make!

@ms.walter: I saw those on etsy, too, and we decided we could make them a lot cheaper ourselves. 🙂

@NotYourTypicalBride: Yes, that is what I am thinking too! I bookmarked them several months ago and just now saw the price again and I think we will try to do them ourselves! Your signs turned out great! Can I ask how you attached the signs to the pole? (BTW, I loved your wedding!! We are having a beach wedding also!)

@ms.walter: Thanks!  Smile My husband used rebar for the posts (easier to pound into the hard coral ground that’s common in the Keys) and he attached the boards with metal clamps – kind of “c” shaped with a flat piece on each side where you attach the screws. Can you picture it? They did slide around just a tad, but if you buy the right size and tighten them enough, they will hold.

@NotYourTypicalBride: Thanks! That is very helpful! I am going to add this project to my fiances to do list!! We will be putting it into sand so we may have to use a different kind of pole/post.

The clamp to go around rebar looks like this:

If you want to attach wood signs to a wood post, you can just cut a 2×4 to a point on one end and nail the sign to the post.

We will be making signs like this.

As people enter our ceremony site we will have a sign saying “Happily ever after begins here”

We will also have sign that dirrects people where to park, and a dirrectional sign that will have an arrow towards where the ceremony is, where cocktail hour is, and were the reception will be.

And then a thank you sign at the exit where people will leave.

I can’t wait to begin working on them!!!

I saw this sign on the internet. I already contacted a vendor for a price quote.
