First, I am very sorry for your losses… good gosh what a horrible month !!

(( HUGS ))

Don’t know the laws in Pennsylvania (it is a good thing you are consulting with a Lawyer)

But I would think that if your Dad had a Will, then that would come into effect cause he out-lived your Grandmother (so altho he didn’t inherit directly from her Estate… he / His Estate would inherit indirectly)

Hopefully, things work out as you wish…

Cause honestly you’ve been thru enough already.

@adoc86:  Good luck!  I know nothing about this, but I hope you find a way to get it all to work out in your favor, and my sympathies on both your tragic losses this month 🙁

@adoc86:  Did grandma name an executor of her will? They should be able to help you access the property and they will want to find that document as well.

P.S. Don’t tell that woman about the suspected document being in the house.

Not a lawyer and this was really an interesting read. But, wanted to say how incredibly helpful everyone has been! And, I’m sorry you’re in this kind of ridiculous and complicated situation.

@adoc86:  If she didn’t name one then you need to file documents ASAP to be named the executor or better yet have a third party you trust named executor.  Discuss that with your attorney at the appointment because it sounds like grandma’s estate has not yet entered probate.
