Looking for brides with flowy, layered tulle dresses! I am having mild dress regret, and am concerned that my dress may be too overwhelimg on me (I am 5 ft 3), and that almost feels too “young”.
How did you style your dress for your wedding day? Did you add a bustle? I would love to see pictures!
The far too long sample of my dress:

Flowy tulle is my fave!! I wore a delicate necklace, a flower crown and these lace bracelet things that my sister made out of our mother’s wedding dress. I definitely bustled mine, dancing would have been impossible otherwise. Mine only needed one button and there were three loops on the skirt that hooked onto it.

May be too long but VERY beautiful!

Like nonablu above I went with a flowy tulle dress for my reception although mine wasn’t a dress at all- it was a separates set! I paired a bodysuit with a tulle skirt and tied it together with a satin ribbon!
My outfit was less full than yours and had more of a boho vibe so i didn’t add anything to fluff it up. I wore a crown braid, pearl hair vine, pearl sandals, and an aquamarine bracelet.
I don’t think your dress looks young at all! It’s lovely! It just looks like it needs some alterations which could be why you think it makes you look young! It will be gorgeous once it’s fit!

I didnt have one, but I love them.
A close friend of mine did, and she looked stunning! Here is a pic of her before and agter bustle

It’s a little big in the picture which would contribute to you feeling overwhelmed/young in it. I found that having the correct length also made more of a difference to the look than I thought it would. I think once prefectly fitted it won’t overwhelm you at all – the skirt isn’t huge or anything and the top is quite delicate.

@nonablu and @leahbeeah you both looked amazing!
@isadelc507 thanks for the before and after pictures of the bustle! It looks almost seamless and flows great with the skirt

I LOVED my flowy dress! I stayed VERY minimal with accessories. Some flowers in my hair and little fern earrings. No necklace, no bracelet, the dress didn’t need it IMO. I also didn’t bustle, just had a really short train. Sure it got stepped on a few times but I wasn’t a fan of how a bustle would have looked

LOVE your dress! When it’s the right size and length, I don’t think it will look “young”!
I’m 5’10”, but here is my tulle dress! I loved the movement of it when I walked around. Also, in the 2nd pic my dress is bustled.

Love your dress! I don’t think it is overwhelming on you at all. Mine is currently being altered (shortened).

your dress is beautiful! Truvelle from your post history right? I’m going to go find a stockist where I am to try that brand on!

OP: I think your dress looks lovely!! Plus, tulle is a great choice as it catches the light beautifully. Here’s mine:

I absolutely loved my tulle skirt and it didn’t feel too young (even though I got married at 24). No bustle for me, and I didn’t miss having one! Like PP I did very minimal accessories, fresh flowers in my hair and tiny pearl earrings only (plus a waltz length veil)

yes truvelle! Their dresses are stunning, I had such a difficult time picking which one I loved the most
