5’4 is not that bad. Imagine 4’11. I have to be in serious pain to get to your height 😭 (5 in heel is my best friend and enemy)

Anyway, You should definitely bustle. Nothing wrong with the look, just easier to dance in for the reception. And do you know how they are hemming it? Im worried coz the detail is at the bottom.

Here is me in 4.5 in heel so almost your height in a ballgown. It overwhelms me a bit but I love the princess look

It’s hard to tell how long your train will be after it’s hemmed, but it depends (as PP said) what you’re doing during the reception. We didn’t have dancing, we did boardgames, so even though I had a bustle I honestly didn’t use it! I included a pic of my dress just for comparing the train, mine wasn’t that long.

And don’t worry about the hemming, I had to get 6 inches off of mine (I’m 5’8, it just came long) and they just removed all of the lace appliqué, hemmed it, then sewed the appliqué back on. It was expensive, but looked great. Yours would be way cheaper than mine! Since I never bustled my dress I don’t think I have any pics of the bustle, but I’ll look to see if we got any at my fittings.

Well I say don’t bustle , I didn’t and mine was quite  heavy satin . I just swished and swanned around all night and it was fine.

mrswong2b:  My friend wore a very similar Lazaro dress for her wedding a few years ago (sorry…won’t share her pic). She’s only 5’2″, wore 4 inch heels, and it looked spectacular on her! Also, she did not bustle, which I actually prefered. If I were you, I’d get a 2 or 3 inch heel (remember, your Fiance will probably have a bit of height from dress shoes) and go with whatever your preference is in terms of a bustle. You look beautiful in your dress, by the way!

First, yay for being a Lazaro bride! Second, 5’4 is not that short. I’m 5’0 and had to pay extra to have my skirt start 4 inches higher. I will also have to have like 8 inches hemmed. Third, I wouldn’t bustle. It really depends on what your reception will entail, but I believe my train is a lil longer than yours (when I’m not on a pedestal) and I won’t be bustling, but I’m also not having a crazy reception. I’m also kinda worried about the lace on the back like a pp suggested.

Heres my Lazaro!

mrswong2b:  Gorgeous! Add bustle buttons and bustle for the reception, you have to have that drama for the ceremony and pictures! I’m 5″4 and went for a ballgown too. Here’s no bustle and bustle.

My two cents: you definitely want to bustle because if not, people may step on the back of your dress. That could cause you to trip, it could rip the dress, stain it, etc. Even if you aren’t dancing, I would say bustle!

Your dress is GORGEOUS!! I particularly love the train and can see why you wouldn’t want to bustle it!  BUT, I agree with what people are saying – you’ll want to have a bustle put in so that you can roam around more easily after the ceremony.  I’m thinking about a single point bustle that will show the beautiful detailing on your train!
