Edit: Why won’t it show the paragraph breaks? Uggh! My apologies – it’s not working!
Just wondering what all my fellow LDR Bees are doing today! I know it can be rough for some of us, so I wanted to check in. 🙂 I just got off FaceTime with my Fiance. Between funerals (both of his paternal grandparents died within two weeks of each other) and business trips, we have hardly had to the time to talk this past month, and it has been rough. It was really nice to just set aside a couple hours to joke around and talk today. It meant a lot. I also sent him a card last week, and his card has yet to arrive (which I told him was fine since he’s hardly been home). I am looking forward to it though! He always sends me some piece of clothing of his, and I love to sleep with it.
So besides FaceTime and cards, we don’t do much, but I am happy with it. Hopefully next year if my spousal visa gets approved quickly we can have our first Valentine’s together!
So what have you ladies been up to? Or if you are a former LDR Bee, what did you used to do for Valentine’s Day?

This is our fourth Valentine’s day together, second spent in an LDR. He forgot it was Valentine’s, again, until last night when I remembered him he had to be sure to be home tonight to skype with our daughter. I don’t really care about the day and all, but it still feels a bit lame. We sent him cards but they haven’t showed up yet.
I spent my day giving my daughter her presents, making her pink cookies, and then opening my card from her, which was predictably pretty hilarious. My mother in law stopped by with a treat for us which was really nice.

I’m not doing much…I ate junk food for dinner because I was feeling sad (awful, I know). Fiance and I have texted over the day, but he is at his two jobs today so we won’t talk until later.
I’ll admit – today is hard for me. I wish I didn’t put so much importance on valentines day, but I do. I hate being alone today.

We’re gonna have a Skype dinner date! I’m flying out to see him tomorrow, though, so I’ll see him soon.
@LilacViolet: Despite the fact that I’m gonna see my Boyfriend or Best Friend tomorrow and I know Valentine’s Day should be every day, today is hard for me. I had a mini-meltdown while chatting Boyfriend or Best Friend today.

@LilacViolet: I feel your pain. I saw about 10 girls get flowers delivered to their work on facebook for Valentines and it sucked knowing that I wouldn’t be getting anything like that. I hate that I feel this way too, I wish I could just let it pass like another day but that’s easier said than done!

@goodasitgets: Yeah, we are having a visit this weekend too…but its still hard!! I think its just knowing that most people in relationships at least get to see their SOs today, even if they don’t do anything for valentine’s. Just talking on skype or texting or calling is just not the same as having someone beside you. Nothing can replace that…I guess Valentine’s day just heightens the awareness of the long-distance.
@perri: I feel you on the flowers – why does everyone post their flowers on facebook!? I told my Fiance not to send me flowers today because it would be ridiculously expensive but after seeing all the posts I was like, damn! I shouldn’t have told him that!

Skype dinner was great. We talked a little and watched Hugo afterward. Just a regular ol’ date night. 🙂
I’m veing driven to the airport now. Hope y’all had good V-Days despite the distance!
