ooooh, I have no idea, Im not experiencing this and dont plan to Boyfriend or Best Friend.  Ive heard about something called Lansinoh (spelling???) and some sort of gel nipple pads that I have come across in several blogs I read recently.  Maybe those would help?  Id also ask your doctor WHY they are burning so badly.  I dont know if thats normal.

Not a doctor, but you’re not even in your 3rd trimester, right?  Have you talked to your doctor?

found them.  Theyre by Lansinoh, and called Soothies Gel pads

http://www.lansinoh.com/products/soothies-by-lansinoh-gel-pads

2 blogsI read mentioned them recently, so I did a quick search in google reader and they came up multiple times in multiple blogs as a reco for sore and burning nipples.  try these 🙂  Apparently each pair can last about 72 hours, so buy a few sets.  But def call a doctor about that, it seems early to me.

I’ve also been leaking for a while, probably started at 5 months. Not a lot though, just about once a week or even less. However, I don’t have any pain with it. Like others said, it’s probably best to call a doctor.

@firsttimemom: my sister is a crazy BF’er  she said she gets these gel things that go in the freezer. says it helps until they “toughen” up. (toughen up when describing nipples seems wrong)

Leaking isn’t unusual but the pain is.  I would call your doctor.

2 things:

From the books I read that we have that in our breasts starting at 16weeks

2nd…you and I are the same length along and over the past 2 weeks my nipples have been really bothering me. No leaking or anything, but they itch like crazy and kinda hurt a little bit. Not really pain…more “irritated” and tender. They were bothering me so much the other night that I put Vaseline on them! haha!  I asked my friend who is 35 weeks along and she said that she also had itchy nipples. I have a feeling that your nipple pain is another one of our weird pregnancy things that we experience along the way.

If you talk to your doc…..let me know what they say 🙂

@KellyV: totally agree. the gel was my life saver in breastfeeding.

if its any consolation…the colostrum never stops…my daughter is 2 and if Fiance plays with mine too much i leak a little and it kinda grosses me out. i only bf for 6 months and my daughter decided she didnt want boob anymore. i tried so hard but she is so independant! what 2 year old screams because she wants a shower and not a bath?? ya mine lol

I would call your doctor to address the pain and ask what they suggest before you try things for the pain. Leaking is totally normal though!
